  • Excellent Value If You Use It Right
Color: Tan
OK folks, this is a good inexpensive solution to shade your favorite outdoor area but you have to know your limitations. Don't try to use this umbrella in winds higher than 5-10 mph. Don't try to leave it open unattended as the wind may pickup. Don't lock the pivot on the base as you must allow it to blow with the wind as locking it will stress vital parts when the wind blows them in an opposite direction. Be sure to properly secure your base with a sand bag or simply trash the cross base that comes with it and pour yourself some concrete in a hole with L shaped anchor bolts and attach it directly to a concrete pier like pictured in my photos. When I bought this like you I was skeptical but when I received it I thought how can this company make any money as it surpassed my expectations. After watching many videos and reading up on these offset umbrellas even the expensive ones have their failures if you try to use them in high winds as they were locking the pivot point that swings the umbrella direction. If you don't want to have to worry about the wind you would be better off with a sun sail or some sort of permanent structure. ... show more

  • Seller tried to bribe us to lie about the product. don't believe the *great* reviews, seller is paying ppl
Color: Tan
Reason for not 5 stars: 1- no hardware kit, so had a giant box just hanging out until we went to the hardware store with poles in hand. 20 minute drive each way, 45minutes there. 2. It is not the high quality thick fabric with water resistant coating that turns any umbrella into a quality umbrella. It the thinner material you would make really nice bed sheets out of. Will need replacing within 2 years. 3. The umbrella itself can not be held in a slanting position, and it sways even in a very light breeze. Basically it is like a child's crib mobile, or an art mobile. Not for sure if the mosquito net we bought for it is going to be able to work with all the motion. In short if you have the extra to spend because you want something that will last, and you can tilt to suit your needs pass this one up,... BUT if you need something cheap, and easy (and you have matching hardware needed) that you could care less of it makes it through the summer then this is the one! UPDATE ***** Don't trust the reviews! Seller called my home phone, and offered me 50% refund plus shipping to change my review. I told the man I could not in good conscience. Online shoppers like myself depend on reviews. I was then offered 100% plus my shipping costs if I would remove my review. I once again refused, and apologized to him, and explained his product is not a good one, and the design is severely flawed. I feel like it is our duty as Amazon customers to not sell our opinions. I was very upset that a distributor would pull my private number, circumvent approaching me thru my Amazon Prime membership messaging, and call me at home in an attempt to pressure me to lie to you my fellow shoppers, or "at least" say nothing about a flawed product. I informed Amazon about what occurred, and they encouraged me to rate the seller, and amend my review with this information, so I know at least Amazon is on our (the customers) side, and took the incident seriously. I mean could you get any shadier than using order information to bribe people to lie? ... show more

  • Yeah ...... "NO!"
Color: Tan
Okay this is very easy to put together but also very easy to fall apart. The whole system is awkward. When you crank it open while moving the pole up and/or down is a pain. The flimsy plastic piece that is suppose to help secure the pole in place cracked the very first day. The base that it comes with is enormous. You could not possibly hang the umbrella over what you want because the base is like 3 feet long. It also tips over! Trying to find a new base has proven to be impossible because 1. The weight required 2. The little metal tabs that are on the pole (designed to specifically fit the base the umbrella comes with) my husband had to pound them off. 3. Have not found a base where the umbrella will not lean really bad. A little bit of wind will take this baby for a ride. I am so frustrated with this product. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
Color: Tan
This umbrella looks very nice when it's up, but the quality is very low. I would not ever put this umbrella up when it's windy out. It moves around a ton! To the point where it was hitting people in the head. We got the weighted base for it, it keeps it generally steady but not good enough....my husband got so sick of it moving that he drilled it to the deck, which didn't help at all. And when we got the package it was kinda beat up and the upper metal pole of the umbrella was dented. I was going to contact the seller on that but it's not super noticeable so I ignored that aspect of it all. So yes, you get what you pay for (an umbrella with a dented pole that hits you in the head if your standing by it when it's windy) ...I think we are going to wait it out the rest of the summer till it breaks, and I'm guessing it will, and then get a purgula. ... show more

  • Close in wind

Love this! Bought it last year and learned from my mistake to not leave it close enough to rub the side of the house, frayed the end so 1 support popped out, I was able to fix it tho. My mistake was leaving it open one morning as I was late for work, high winds bent the pole attached to the braces. Again, my mistake. I recommend waterproofing, and I use sand bags and 1 bag of salt, never an issue with it! I don't know what people are talking about with a "pin", mine has a screw in knob and it works great. I bought another for this year, and learning from my mistakes, it should last longer, if not? For 69.00 I'll happily buy one next year. ... show more
