Returned, wasn't for our use, trying to secure bunk bed

It's not the item itself that I have an issue with. I thought it just slid under the mattress I didn't know that it has these brackets you have to screw into the bed frame . Also , I have a metal bowstring. Therefore it won't work. You have to have a wood bed frame. If I did, I would have used it. Instead of having to send this back.

I have an unorthodox use for this bed rail...I sleep alone and due to my room layout cannot put one of the long sides against the wall, and am CONSTANTLY, due to being a restless sleeper, kicking my blankets and pillows off of my bed. This was super easy to install and keeps almost everything (I still lose a pillow on occasion) in place perfectly, and folds down nicely for making it or changing the sheets.

This is for my dad. He's been disabled since 2008 due to a stroke. He can't move the right side of his body and is no longer able to walk. He is prone to falls and has fallen out of bed while trying to get up on his own a few times and we've had to call paramedics to help us get him up. He's a larger man (5' 10" and ~230 lbs.) and it's hard for me and my mom to get him up alone. This has given us some peace of mind. We didn't have to use the hardware, we just slid it under the mattress and it feels secure in place. We no longer have to worry about him sliding out of bed. The rail collapses easily and stays put when it's up. The price is in-line with other products like this.

I ordered this bed rail for my mom to prevent her from accidentally falling out of bed. This is a sturdy bed rail. I like that you push a button and the bed rail goes down easily. The thing I did not realize is that the best way to use this bed rail is to screw it into the bed. I do not want to do that. I did push the bed rail in between the two mattresses. It does seem to stay in place. To be more safe and secure I used some straps to hold the bed rail in place and it seems to be working well. My mom likes the bed rail and the ease of folding the bed rail down.
