This is the second one of these I’ve tried and the one I like the best so far. It’s a bit wider, giving you more area to grab onto when getting out of bed. The base is also a lot longer, so it slides further under the mattress, giving it much more stability to keep it from slipping if I lean to heavily on it. It even comes with a nice pouch that can be fastened on it for easy storage of items you want to keep nearby, but you can also take it off if you don’t have any need for it. It was very easy to put together and fells very solid. I like it.

This Tabeke bed rail is similar to numerous other products available on Amazon. There are six tubular steel pieces that lock together using spring buttons. Assembly for the Tabeke was made slightly difficult as one of the pieces had the foam pad misapplied and it was obstructing the installation of an adjoining piece. Once assembled, the unit simply slides under the mattress. The length of the portion under the mattress is 36 inches deep and should work with any mattress from a twin (38 inches wide) to king (76 inches). A strap is provided to secure the rail to the bed frame, but the weight of the mattress seemed adequate to me, and I didn't use the strap. The rail definitely makes it easier to pull yourself up in bed and it may prevent you from falling out if you roll over too close to the edge in your sleep. It isn't so long as to frustrate a cognitively impaired person. The Tabeke comes with an accessory pouch with four pockets to hold items like cell phones and water bottles. It is a nice touch, though the painted on "Tabeke" logo is a bit cheesy. This is a perfectly fine bedrail system. I'm deducting one star due to the poorly positioned foam pad and the clunky logo appearance on the pouch.

I recently ordered the TABEKE Bed Rail Mobility Aid with Side Storage to assist my family member, who has Parkinson's Disease, with getting in and out of bed. I wanted to provide some extra support and stability without having to resort to a hospital bed, as my family member prefers their larger queen-sized bed for comfort. The bed rail has made a significant difference, as it helps my loved one get in and out of bed and provides added stability as they regain their balance. Putting the rail together was a breeze, and it easily slid between the mattress and bed springs. I appreciate the additional strap to secure the rail to the bed frame, which provides a secure feeling in addition to the weight of the mattress. We positioned the rail near my family member's head to ensure it didn't obstruct their movement but still provided the necessary support for getting up and down. While the side pouch is a nice feature, my family member hasn't found a use for it, as they already have a bedside table. Nevertheless, the rail has served its purpose well and has added an extra layer of security for my loved one with balance issues.

I have REM behavior disorder and as so, I have rolled (leaped :) ) out of bed a good number of times, about 1 every 2 mths or so. Anyway, I ordered this product because it was the widest measured model, plus it had the thickest metal pieces. I could not be happier with this item! It is even cheaper than many of its competitors on the market. I have an extra tall mattress and even with it, this device still grants plenty of vertical protection. I have not come close to falling out of bed using it. I like the handy pockets that are built into the covering fabric of this product as well. Good size for holding my cell phone, night earphones, etc. Finally, I use this product as a useful grasping handle to hoist myself in and out of bed. It really is so solid and is very reassuring.

I've had some knee and ankle issues as of late and needed a little extra support getting in and out of bed. This has been a nice, non permanent way to get a little assistance without having to make major modifications or invest in anything too over the top. The rail is simple steel tube with spring clips. It fits well and is reasonably sturdy. The mattress itself holds it in place, but there is a strap that goes around the frame and keeps it from sliding out. If you put a lot of weight on it.. Overall its good if you just need a comfortable hand hold to get your feet under you when climbing out of bed. But its not going to support your whole body weight. This works great for me as I simply don't trust my knee and ankle to support my weight fully when I first roll out of bed. Definitely a good buy that has helped me out. If you're someone who needs a hand grip to get up from lying down, this will do it. The strap is helpful to anchor it in place under the mattress. The pocket is handy for phones, books, or remotes, but it will slice down a little with use. It's not large, and I think it's not meant for very heavy use--not to pull on as much as helping with balance while getting up and down. This shouldn't be used to guard someone from falling out of bed.

Design is somewhat similar to expected, but the panel with the pockets is very poorly attached. If bumped slightly the panel falls off.

This is a well-designed, sturdy bed rail which I acquired for post-surgical needs. The parts are manufactured precisely and assembly is easy. I was able to install this in a matter of minutes at the head of my platform bed and took advantage of the included security strap as an extra measure although it was not really needed. The padding on the rail makes it comfortable to grip and the whole unit provides much needed support to rise from the bed following knee surgery. The addition of a pouch that attaches to the frame is a thoughtful addition and perfect for eyeglasses, a remote control, book, tablet or whatever you may want within easy reach. I am very pleased with the strength, design and value this product offers.
