My elderly mother has lost the use of her right arm, which makes it very difficult for her to get in and out of bed on her own. This BigDolphin bed rail solves the problem: my mother has something to grab onto and pull herself up, and she has something to steady herself as she gains her footing. She loves this bed rail, so I love this bed rail. It was easy to assemble, and I was able to secure it to the bed post with its sewn-on nylon strap, and sandwich the rail between the mattresses. With all of my weight, I cannot pull it free, so it is very secure and sturdy. I worry about the suffocation hazard any railing introduces, but this one fits securely against the mattress (don't place it within a foot of the headboard), so we've minimized our risk. I like that this rail is padded, making it easier to grip, and I love the little pouch on the front as my mother can secure her iPad and her remote controls within easy reach of herself when she's in bed. This BigDolphin rail is very much appreciated because it does solve a significant concern for us and allows my mother greater independence. Her physical therapist and her occupation therapist like this rail and think it is perfect for her needs. Of course, now my father wants one for his bed!

I cannot get out of bed without a guard rail, and my old one had finally seen better days. I decided to replace it with this upgraded version, and I’m very pleased with how sturdy and reliable it feels. The frame is solid metal with a stable base that fits securely under the mattress, and the ergonomic handle gives me a firm, comfortable grip when I need to push myself up or reposition. It doesn’t wobble or slide, which makes a big difference for my safety and confidence when getting in and out of bed.
