It’s sturdy, adjustable, and has been pretty helpful. It supports me reasonably well in pulling myself up. Ideally, I would have one rail on each side of me, but that’s not possible with my setup. Once assembled and placed under the mattress, it felt very sturdy and didn’t shift around. Assembly was pretty simple and only took a few minutes. The instructions were easy to follow, and I didn’t need any special tools. The handle has a comfortable grip, which makes it easy to hold onto when sitting up or standing. I am on my Second hip replacement in three months. The most difficult part for me, in the beginning, is getting in and out of bed. I cannot articulate how this elderly bed rail assist me getting in and out of bed. It is a godsend. I highly recommend it for people that have a difficult time getting in and out of bed. His bed is NOT an adjustable bed, and he has started needing something to help him use to push himself up from a laying position. This works well for that, but also gives him a little extra support when getting into bed and adjusting his position.
