I like that it worked very well and has a charge meter to let you know how the charging process is going in a battery-like image with ascending charge bars blinking. However, it read 80% for a long time after moving up from 20% in not a long time. Then finally jumped to showing 100%. No pass through any in-between. A GREAT improvement over the little motorcycle trickle charger Battery Tender, whose 1.25 amps never could get an auto battery up to the "green light, maintenance charge" stage. One big gripe: the cables to the battery from the unit are really too short, shorter than the small Battery Tender. With a car with its battery on the left front, and me trying to get cables to it from the right side, I had minimal ability to position the charger. As it was, I couldn't get the cables to go over the engine, down the right car side to reach the ground! I needed a stand to raise it closer to the battery . And because of the short cables, I wasn't able to position it completely out of the sun - and it runs an internal cooling fan already to dissipate its own heat. Even another foot of cord would have helped a lot.

Live in FL and the heat is a real battery killer. We have two cars that are rarely driven. One has a great deal of electrical activities that drain the battery while we are traveling from home. Been through two AGM batteries (H9s) in two years. Expensive. The other is a "classic" that is rarely driven. I generally exercise it once a month for at least 1 hour. I have a trickle charge from another manufacturer that has done a relatively good job but never know the true status of the charge. Enter Battery Tender. R&T Best of the Best winner. It works, provides all information I need on the battery status, plug and forget, 15, 8, 2 Volts charge that automatically steps down as battery charges and large viewing screen for status. If you have multiple vehicles that may need a quick charge or simply a trickle charge, you can't do better than this unit.

Working like a charm. Had to replace a very old automatic that quit working after a lightening stroke to a power pole in the backyard. I was concerned I wouldn't find all the features my old charger had which made it incredibly easy to use. This new charger has not been a disappointment. I think I like it better than the old one, so far. It's still brand new, but so far it is working like a charm and the simplicity of the operation is very nice. I would recommend this automatic charger.

I have many Battery Tender brand maintainers on several items including two motorcycles. They are great. Recently my less driven Excursion has been running my deep cycle yellow top battery down due to phantom draw, so I wanted a specific AGM maintainer to keep it up. This new unit is doing well. I’m hearing the fan noise out of the box, so I do worry about longevity with it as others have mentioned, but my biggest concern is my truck sits in my detached shop. If I lose power over there, I may not be aware for days, and if this unit loses power and comes back on, it sits there for a minute, then defaults to standard battery 2amp mode. The unit needs to have a capacitor and programming to be able to go back to what mode it was set to run on or intelligence to auto detect battery types after power bumps. I have a charger maintainer from a company whose name starts with S that claims to auto detect, but you never truly know what it’s doing because there is no battery type indicator. Additionally, the internal cooling fan sounds like it wasn’t meant to run long term, so I bought this model to clearly know what mode/battery type is being charged, but it defaults to standard battery mode after a power flicker makes me worry the wrong voltage will be used to maintain my AGM battery and actually do more harm than good.

I have had to replace two car batteries over the past three years because I travel for extended periods which killed the hybrid bettery in two different vehicles. I bought this, read the instructions, plugged it in, left for two weeks and my battery was in perfect health.

Powered it on I noticed it doesn't have the dot matrix screen like I seen in some photos, perhaps they updated to a simple LCD. Regardless ALL the functionality is there and the warranty is outstanding with battery tender. My trusted brand
