I ordered the black version and removed the lower post after installation. It's purely an aesthetic choice but I'm glad it's an option, and only took 10 seconds to remove. The best part for me is that installation was accomplished with a few large dual-lock Command Strips (we used 4 per fixture just to be safe). No wiring and no holes in the wall. The fixtures each come with a standard fixture plate and drywall anchors for normal mounting if you're just replacing another fixture or if you want a more permanent installation. The shades are simple and the perfect size for the fixtures. The bulbs charge with a USB-C cable (USB-C to USB-A cable is included) and glow red while charging, changing to green when fully charged. There is one remote to control both bulbs. The only drawback here is that both bulbs do the same thing, meaning if you want separate colors (red and green at Christmastime, for example) then you have to manually change the color using the button on the side to cycle through the colors, or use the remote on one while the other is out of sight. Whatever you do on the remote will affect both bulbs. I remove the bulbs from the base (a simple bayonet connector attaches them) and charge them up instead of running a cable to them. There is also a small magnet on the base so you could fashion an easier connection if you wanted to, or use them somewhere else entirely. Battery life is very dependent on your usage, as there are several brightness levels and transition settings that move through the 15 colors (which includes 3 different white temperatures). I've included some photos of a few of the basic colors. Just for purposes of this review I left the lights on until they died and I got over 12 hours of constant runtime at the brightest setting. We usually have the brightness set about halfway. They're on for several hours at night and I usually have to charge them once a week or so. Even a few levels below the brightest setting is still bright to illuminate our 20X30 family room, and certainly bright enough to read by. I'll be installing a second set in our camper this summer to take the place of the cheap and much-too-bright LED lighting most modern campers come with. I cannot recommend these lights enough. The media could not be loaded. I already owned a pair of gold battery powered wall sconces but when I saw these I had to get them. Something unique about these is the fact that the light bulbs are separate from the sconces. This design is WAY better than other battery operated light fixtures. Typically the battery is part of the fixture therefore you were forced to bring the power source to the fixture in order to charge it. That was such a hassle. I would have juice pack hanging from a USB cable until it was charged. But with this sconce you can bring the light itself to the source. Here’s how it works, the lightbulb itself is the battery and it separates from the base that screws into the sconce. All you have to do is pop it off and charge it. There’s a remote to control the light colors, brightness, and warmth. The sconce itself is a classic design with exceptional quality. It has a real cloth shade that looks very classy. I like how these are flat black. It gives it a modern take on a vintage design. The base plate that screws to the wall is the good kind. It is a round plat that allows you to manipulate the sconce once it’s screwed to the wall in case you mounted it off level on accident. And if you’ve ever mounted anything you know how difficult it can be to get it level on the first try. But with this circular plate you can shimmy it to wear you want it before tightening down. The other one I have has one bar with two holes. I had to get it right the first time or else. The light itself is very bright at its brightest setting and goes low enough to bring a nice ambiance. Oh ya, it also comes with a magnetic plate with adhesive on one side so you can stick it somewhere you need light, then if you needed to, you could pop the light out of the sconce and simply stick it to the magnet. Pretty cool feature. Overall I like these sconces because of the functionality that is offered with the elegant design. I also like the lighting options and the brightness. Lastly, I absolutely love the convenience of being able to bring the light to the power source instead of the other way around. That really makes these a game changer.
