I got this AUTOPHIX 5900P+ 3 months ago and its still working perfectly I really got this to register a new battery and perform servicets on my BMW, and it has exceeded my expectations. My BMW 750 check engine light was on , so I was able to get my cod3s and clear them all and passed my smog with flying colors. The scanner has True BMW-specific functionality: Battery registration, BMS reset, EPB reset, oil service reset, throttle adaptation, and full system scans all work flawlessly. Simple, standalone device: No phone, app, or subscription required. Plug it in and go. Clear screen and intuitive menu: Easy to navigate even if you’re not a professional mechanic. Fast diagnostics: Reads and clears codes quickly across multiple BMW systems, not just basic OBDII. Solid build quality: Feels durable and well-made for a handheld tool. Real-world use: I successfully registered a new AGM battery in minutes—something dealers charge a lot for. It also reset oil service intervals and read manufacturer-specific fault codes that generic scanners can’t see. Although BMW-focused features won’t be useful if you work on many non-BMW vehicles (though basic OBDII still works). Screen is functional but not flashy—no touchscreen or fancy graphics. Although sensors entering and exiting will not always provide a code, you can quickly identify dropouts and poor connections by rearranging objects while keeping an eye on the numbers if you know what you are looking at in the live data. This will work for you if you need diagnostic tools particular to BMW and do not want to get too involved with anything as complex as a SnapOn tool. This helped point me in the correct way when I used it to diagnose a trans code on a salvage BWM that I purchased as a project car. It is simple to use and provides comprehensive BMW system diagnostics. It saved me from having to go to the shop, and battery registration and resets operate perfectly. About six of the most basic maintenance functions are included, including the ability to quickly reset the oil reminder, service the brakes, and replace the 12V battery. the basic equipment that a driveway specialist would probably use for regular maintenance. Pro level servicing tasks like programming keys and resetting airbag lights after repairs can only be carried out by diagnostic readers with far higher specifications. It can analyze a variety of real-time data, which is the most crucial factor to consider while attempting to determine why a car is not operating properly these days. If you know what you are looking at in the live data, you can rapidly spot dropouts and weak connections by moving things while keeping a watch on the numbers, even though sensors entering and exiting will not always produce a code. If you require BMW-specific diagnostic equipment and do not want to get too engaged with anything as complicated as a SnapOn tool, this will work for you. I have used this scanner for a little while, It does a great job scanning and giving good diagnosis. I don't have a BMW so i haven't been able to test it on the BMW battery function. It connects seamlessly to my F150 and Honda Odyssey. It does have a couple of neat functions that scanners of this same price range don't have so i consider this a great value!
