  • great chair for the price though the arm rest supports do not lock in place
Color: Full Black Pattern Name: Chair
Great chair/ergo feature for the price. Please be aware that the arm rest supports are only lockable in its vertical adjustments and NOT in lateral adjustment and is the only downside. Autonomous please provide updated arm rest supports allowing lock in both vertical and lateral adjustments.

  • Great except for lumbar support
Color: Full Black Pattern Name: Chair
I liked this chair a lot but it just didn't fit me. I am 5'4" and although I could get the seat height right the lumbar support was always a couple of inches too high. The chair seemed well designed, well constructed, and was easy to use. Some things that I particularly liked: - Assembly was straightforward. They supply an excellent T-handle allen wrench which makes it go more quickly. - The seat pad was comfortable - The crank used to adjust the tension on the seat back was the best from among any of the chairs that I tried (at least 30 of them, offered by Costco, Sam's Club, OfficeMax, and Amazon). I didn't expect to use this feature but it worked so well that I found myself adding or removing tension from time to time in order to shift to different sitting positions. - The armrests have *less* adjustability than some of the others. Many armrests move around and require readjustment during use; actually I'd prefer it if you could lock all of the settings. The height locks on these but they still move foward and back or wider or closer apart. It worked pretty well during the two days I used this chair. - There were helpful videos on YouTube that I used to *disassemble* the chair. I ended up going with the following chair because it enabled me to adjust the lumbar support for a perfect fit. If I was a little taller this one would have worked, and it costs a bit less. • The most adjustable office chair yet
Color: Grey Pattern Name: Chair
Easy to assemble if you follow the instructions - absolutely no issues - be careful attaching the main control block onto the seat - a little fiddle but easy if you don’t rush! Bought for my wife as a small person this actually fits her when adjusted - very supportive Yes arm rest pads don’t lock so move around - they are fully adjustable for height but the pads move as you move forearms - would be handy to have a means of fixing these Very stylish and the mesh back means it doesn’t look heavy - this is used in home office Love it Would buy it again Pricy - yes but it’s worth the money for ergonomic adjustability ... show more

  • A 300 lb/6' 2" Man's Opinion
Color: Full Black Pattern Name: Chair
Updated December 2021: The seat cushion has lost all support and now there is actual leg/bottom pain when sitting in this chair. There is no way this chair was designed for anyone up to 350lbs. It has also started making popping, squeaking, and creaking noises incessantly, so I knocked off an additional star and would highly suggest bigger or heavier folks to go another route. This was one of those Prime Day deals I just couldn't pass up. I've needed a chair with better back support for quite a long time as those "gaming/car" chairs are seriously not designed well and do not provide any support. I came from an oversized DXRacer H series chair, which has a bit of gaming chair looks but is meant more for professional/business use. I liked the chair, but the back support was still very poor with an adjustable pillow that'd just compress and end up doing nothing after about an hour. I decided on the Autonomous chair because I actually own and use their business smart desk base for my home office sit/stand desk. I am impressed with the quality and reliability of the desk, so I decided to give their ergochair a shot. I have to say the head, neck, and back support on this is better than any other chair I've tried at a big box office supply store. I replaced the wheels with upgraded ones for easier gliding on carpet and hard surfaces and it's super smooth. The chair looks great in all-black without unnecessary color or chrome accents like some other chairs. My ONLY complaint with this chair, and it's quite a big one, is the seating surface. This seating surface is not a mesh one but rather a fabric/cushion foam like other cheaper chairs. For the price, I was willing to ignore this and give it a try. As a larger person in frame and weight, I can tell you the difference between this base and the thicker base of my old chair is quite substantial. I immediately felt like I was sitting on a hard slab of wood when I tried this one out. It is not comfortable for long periods of time, so if you're bigger I absolutely recommend a mesh bottom chair or getting a nice pad to slap on top of this chair's seat for long sitting durations. After about three weeks of usage, the seat is still just as uncomfortable. I am actually getting more accustomed to it, and I think it is actually helping my posture a bit more because I'm focusing on my sitting every few minutes when my rear end starts to bark at me. Longevity wise, I can see this chair being great for a couple years, but the cheaper plastic connections will ultimately wear out I'm sure. At that time, I'll probably spring for a $1000+ chair from the reputable manufacturers. I absolutely recommend this chair if you're a lighter person or are a bigger guy like myself and are willing to sacrifice a little comfort to improve your posture and back support. A cushion will help, but it throws off the lumbar position so doesn't really make much sense to me. Also, something I failed to mention is the armrests slide in/out and back/forth without any locking mechanism. It's not a big deal most of the time, but my previous chair had locking selections and I didn't realize how nice that was to have. Your mileage or opinion may vary. If it's on sale for less than $300 like it was when I bought it, this chair is a great value and excellent purchase. For anything over $350, I think you can probably find better with some knock-off brands with a bit more support or better features. In summary, it beats every "gaming/racer" chair out there. Your back will thank you for having this chair! ... show more
