There are a lot of cheap doors on the market and this is one of them…I actually like how simple it is. Solar is nice, but batteries are predictable, and they are super easy to get to. The frame seems pretty sturdy, though I haven’t used it long. My only concern with this is the “safety” feature, which stops when it feels resistance and then retries two more times pretty quickly, and since it takes more pressure than I’m willing to test on my hand to trigger it, the chicken would probably just be stuck in there until you find it wedged and help it out…

Does what it's supposed to, size and design are good, I just wish it was solar and didnt.run off batteries(my fault for not looking closer) and had a remote or camera on it. Plus the holes in the door just don't seem to be practical to me with frigid winters. Maybe would be nice to have as an option but not practical for year round.

I have been using this automatic chicken door for about 1 1/2 months now, and I have been very happy it so far! I installed it just before the arrival of some very cold temperatures and snowy winter weather, and it saved me from having to go outside twice a day to open and close the coop each morning and evening. So far, it has been very reliable, and I hope that it continues to be. I appreciate this particular door not only for the convenience it provides, but also for the simplicity of design! You can program the door right from the door itself (NO APP NECESSARY, which is something that I get tired of having to deal with). And the programming buttons are very intuitive and easy to figure out even without reading the instruction manual first (although I did also read this, because I am that kind of person, lol). The afternoon hours are in military time, for what it's worth, but I honestly don't know why that would even be an issue for anyone. Easy enough! The door kit included screws and a screwdriver for installation, although I used my automatic drill to make the job easier and faster. All in all, I am completely satisfied with this door for now....but I will definitely update my review if I experience any reliability issues with it down the road. For now, it seems like a good value for the price point!

Works well for the last 1.5 months on one battery set. No issues so far although you need to keep the gate clean and debris out from the bottom. I re-arrange the gate in a way that is sits higher over the floor to avoid any debris accumulating in this area. This is also smaller than my last gate and I had to build a frame around it to compensate for that. But all things considered I am very happy with this.

The media could not be loaded. Sometimes the flock is up and about moving before I make it out there to open their door into the yard from the run. This solved that problem. Very simple to install and to set the timer for the door to open and shut. This is day number two of using this and so far door opens and shuts just fine. Does take three AA batteries.
