So far so good. Very easy to set up with the app. We use a WiFi signal booster to reach our cameras in our coop and this door has no problem connecting. Make sure you turn off the light sensor if you are testing the open and close feature on the phone. Really nice upgrade to our existing automatic door. ... show more

    • Got too dirty to work in 3 months
Worked fine, for 3 months. We have this on a coop with 16 chickens. It's mounted under a roof so it's exposed to virtually no rain/snow/wind or any other kind of weather. Also, it's mounted at the top of a 4' ramp, so far away from the dirt/straw/etc found on the ground outside the coop. Recently, it started to not fully open and not fully close. I could 'help' it along with my hand and make it fully close or open, but that kind of defeats the purpose of buying a $100 automatic chicken door. I took it all apart this morning and cleaned up all the surfaces that see relative motion and then coated everything in spray silicon. Door works great now, but no reason to suspect it won't have the same problem in another 3 months. I don't know if more expensive doors are more tolerant to debris, but that certainly appears to be a problem with this door. On a positive note, we really like the ability to control this door from our phones via wifi & the app - that is a nice feature. ... show more

So far very happy with this purchase. Similar roll door but the control pad is easy to read and setup. Comes with a good card stock template for the cut out. Large solar panel which charges mine even with some cloud cover. Not designed for direct power hookup but you could use the usb port and power at the door (but not recommended b/c connection is not water proof). With the solar charging on this one, direct power not needed. Also connected to my wifi at approx 100 feet. Good part is you can turn off the connection to save battery. Remote has a pull out antenna that can operate the door at same distance. I put a covering over the door to avoid direct rain. Will seal and paint later. Chicken approved. ... show more

    • Easy to set up.
I already have the Tuya app for some other devices, so it was easy to add this device. I like that it can be operated with the app, or set a timer. It either runs on solar or it can be charged with a c-type cord. It’s a little smaller than my previous door. I have Red leghorns and amerucanas. They have to bow down to fit through the door. The door is metal but seems thin. I’m using this as the door from the coop into the secured run, so I’m not worried about predators. Not sure if I’d want to use this as the primary door to the outside. I have a very thick, predator proof door for that. This also has a remote but you have to be near it.     • Advanced chicken/duck door
The media could not be loaded. This is my second chicken door that I have ordered and this one has lots more features than the first one but that also means it takes a little while for the learning curve to operate. It came well packaged with a stencil included for easy install. When we took it out of packaging, it had full battery so we tested it to see how well it operated. The buttons are pretty self explanatory. No long presses are needed unless you are scheduling or changing a setting. We didn't try the app yet but we probably won't use it. The door has to be no further than 32 feet from your router for it to work and we are right on that edge. The door glides smoothly and it took us a minute to figure out why it was closing , going half way up and closing again but it turns out it is the anti-pinch feature. The door does have a sensor but it does take a decent amount of pressure to sense an object is in the way. The fact that you can take the interface off and charge it is great, just in case you don't have enough solar power stored. There is no place for batteries so it can only be charged through cord or solar. The door feels very well-made and not cheap so I think it will be a great door option for our ducks. ... show more
