We set times to test it in the house first and it worked. Installed it and reset the times to 6;30am and7:30 pm. Went out about 7 pm, half my chickens were still outside with the door closed. Set the times again, it looks like its working, but one more failure and it's coming back.

I bought this for my friend who recently bought a new home that came with an old chicken coop. I must admit that I was concerned that we wouldn't be able to install it ourselves. We don't have any experience with anything like this, but it was actually quite easy to install. The door is already assembled and ready to so all you have to do is put it in the right place. Color: NEW-Orange
I installed this on the shed and it worked for a couple of days. Then the door stop opening all the way; it would only open an inch, halfway, or not at all (not the batteries). I requested a replacement and they sent it no problem (kudos). However same issues with this one, I go out this morning door is closed. I press the button and it opened just fine. For reference, it closed automatically last night. Originally I thought it was because it was summer, and dusty. But I just tried to use it again during the winter, and same issues. This item is inconsistent and the motor underpowered; if you're going to use it, be sure to check that it worked each day. Disclaimer; I've installed this to an aluminum/tin storage shed rather than wood. However, it works when I'm done, just does not continue working. ... show more
