It’s tiny and not secured to the door so when you install the batteries take care the door slip out of your hand. I share this to save someone from digging through leaves and sand to find it. This automatic chicken door is a game changer. We no longer have to go outside to get our chickens into their coop. The timer feature works great. The chicken door senses when the chickens are coming in and does not close on them, rather it will bounce back up. It was very easy to install and took less than 15 minutes. We shopped around for chicken doors and felt this was the best price for this particular door. This automatic door is not only durable, but it comes with a lifetime warranty. While we’ve only used it so far during warm months we anticipate it will work just as well during the cold months and if it doesn’t, we will rely on the warranty. I have a house on the ridge overlooking a private lake, and a duckhouse sitting partly in the water down at the lakeside below. I'm tired of walking down and back up every morning to open the door, and then repeating the trip every evening to close it. This chicken door is perfect. Well built, simple function, and it runs off of a timer clock, so it doesn't have a photo cell (they never last long). I added a small piece of roof to protect the door from sun deterioration. Worked great first couple of weeks, but then couldn’t count on it. Had fresh batteries and still it wouldn’t work half the time. Really wanted it to because I loved the ease of not having to rush out early for the girls.
