This is, hands down, the best shredder I've ever owned. First, the auto-feed is a must. If you have stacks of 8.5x11 paper that needs shredding, this is your product. I've had Fellows for years that I used to hand feed paper into, which was great at the time but now, I need the auto-feed. I decided to get rid of my file cabinets and tons of paper, buy a high speed scanner (Epson RR-600W) and make all my files electronic. It was working out great until I realized that I have hours and hours of shedding to do. I recently tried an HP shredder with auto-feed and that was a disaster. The paper kept getting caught on a ledge where the paper feeds in and it would stop barely into a stack. So I looked for something that wouldn't get caught on anything (didn't care if it was P4 or P5 cross-cut) and I saw this one. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but instead of calling out a shredding truck or taking bags and bags of paper to a place that may or may not shred my confidential docs, I spent the money and I'm really happy that I did. I can put 200 pages in this machine and go about my business while it does all the work. I think it's about 8 - 9 minutes to shred a full stack (mainly because it is a P5 and the shreds are pretty tiny). You can't leave staples in the auto-shred because of the way the paper is pulled into the machine, which is the best thing about this shredder. I just feel the edges and rip the staple of the corner (I'm not gonna site around pulling out staples with a remover). The manual feed takes staples and odd shaped docs. This thing is fairly quiet for a shredder which makes me happy too. It's on casters so I can pull it in and out of the little cubby that I have it in. The paper bin is also has casters on the back to you can tilt and roll it over to wherever you want to empty it. Aside from my high speed scanner, this one of my favorite purchases ever. Dont waste your money on a top loader where the paper sits upright in a feeder, like a printer, just get one of these. Either size would be superior to any other shredder function in this price range.

This paper shredder, in my opinion, is one of the better ones (if not the best) in its class and price range. It functions as intended; it is very efficient, quiet, elegant, and doesn't occupy much space. I like the fact that, unlike some other shredders, it has a power button within easy reach, not merely an ON/OFF switch on the back side. It shreds documents to tiny pieces of paper that are truly High Security. One other shredder that I tried, a different brand, was misleadingly advertised as High Security; it should've been specified as Low Security instead, since I could read a social security number on one of the strips of shredded documents. Another feature that I like about the Aurora AU200MA is its automatic Energy-Saving mode, which turns off the power after sensing a significant idle time. I cannot comment on the product's durability because I’ve only had this shredder for about a week, and whether the machine is durable or not remains to be seen -- during the full warranty period and, hopefully, beyond that time. Perhaps, for some of us, this type of shredder could be improved by changing its dimensions a bit, such as making it higher and reducing its depth, which is what I prefer.

After looking at reviews of multiple shredders, including those available from the big office supply stores, I figured I would take a chance on this Aurora commercial 200 sheet shredder. After receiving it (it was packaged and shipped very well, although it is a very heavy box), I unboxed it and plugged it in. In shredding a couple of pages manually initially, I noticed that it was much quieter than my previous shredder. I then put about 100 sheets in the auto feed section and sat back as it did it's shredding. Again, super quiet, no muss, no fuss and the best part was I could do other work while it was doing the shredding. Also, the shredding hopper is very large so it will not need to be emptied quite as frequently as most. And this is a micro cut shredder. Very secure. And, unlike manually fed shredders, you can just load and go. A total time saver and well worth the extra $$ for the 200-sheet auto feed function. Now, if this continues to work without issue and last a few years (my last one lasted over 7 years) then it will be money well spent. At this point in time, I highly recommend it!

I've only had the for two days, and am always skeptical of reviews written after only short term use, but this does the job. I've shredded several thousand sheets. It performs well on uniform stacks of 8.5x11 paper, even if a few odd sized sheets are interspersed. When it does stall, it is easy to pull our the offending pages and restart. Feeding manually also is quite easy, and I've fed some fairly heavy stock and a few credit cards with no problem. It is very quiet and quite quick. It can handle staples as long as not more than a few sheets are stapled together. The instructions say it can handle small paper clips, but have not put that to the test. I recommend reading the instructions.
