This shredder works really good. It has a large bin for the shredded paper. It is not super loud. The whole unit is sturdy, not flimsy like other shredders that i have had. I'm very happy with this shredder.

It was deemed that I was cheaper than a shredding service for 10 years of documents that needed to be destroyed. Worked great, never overheated or shut down because of heat. Used for about an hour at a time. Quieter than our old Shredder that I burned out in a day. The basket gets filled quickly and needs to be shaken to settle the shreddings to be able to shred a lot more. Use thicker bags or double bags in the basket or the plastic in the basket will rip a thin bag and shreddings will go everywhere! Cuts right through multiple pages of paper with ease. My only complaint is the "cross-cut" feature because it doesn't really protect your info. It cuts it STRAIGHT across, so a few words of a sentence can still be read (hence the 4 star rating and not 5), but it's still a great shredder. It IS cross-cut. Just not a great level of security. Slightly more secure than strip-cut. Oh and it cuts right through credit cards too! ... show more

    • Good micro cut shredder
Size: 14-Sheet
This is a good shredder. I like the micro cut, and I like the number of pages it shreds at one time. It also shreds cardboard very well. I like the large capacity basket, and the "full basket" light. Gone are the days of pulling out the basket and having shredded paper fly everywhere because it kept shredding even when the basket was full. There are only two things I don't like: 1) the shredder turns itself off after a few minutes, so you have to turn it back on when you want to shred again if it's been those few minutes since the last shred; and 2) when you take the basket out to empty it, you have to turn the shredder back on after you put the basket back in. Other than those two fairly minor complaints, I'm really happy with my purchase. I've used several shredders in my life, and the Vida Teco is one of the best ones I've used. ... show more

    • Overheats Quickly & Struggles With Larger Loads

I purchased this shredder for its advertised 60‑minute continuous run time and its ability to handle up to 14 sheets at once, but my experience did not match those expectations. During the very first use, the unit overheated and shut down in under 15 minutes while shredding only one to two sheets at a time. The room was a steady 69°F, so ambient temperature was not a factor. When testing its capacity using standard paper I received with invoices, statements, etc, the shredder also struggled with anything above eight sheets, slowing down noticeably and bogging under the load. When attempting 14 sheets it struggled and stopped functioning before the 14 pages were complete. This was well below the stated 14‑sheet capability. The automatic shutdown feature is important for safety, but the actual performance fell significantly short of the advertised continuous‑run and heavy‑duty claims. For anyone who needs longer shredding sessions or regularly handles larger stacks of paper, this limitation may be a concern. Understanding that production cost always being a factor A stronger cooling system—such as an integrated fan or improved heat‑dissipation design—would likely help the shredder operate closer to its stated specifications and better support heavier workloads. ... show more
