This is a pretty solid label maker. It is easy to use, has a lot of settings/features, and seems to be good quality. The ink doesn't smudge at all. I also like that it can be used plugged in or with batteries. Other reviews mentioned that there is a lot of extra blank space on each label, which is true, but I imagine it's there so it's easier to retrieve the label from the machine once you print and cut it. So, I won't deduct points for that, but it does mean you have to trim each label, which is a little extra work. It also seems like it would waste a lot of tape, but I have been able to print over 100 labels and I haven't had to replace the tape yet. The only thing that could be better is the sizing of the font. There is a very large difference between the small and medium size font when writing a single line, something in between would be nice. This label maker is a quality product. However, there is a steep learning curve required in understanding how to operate it. Not nearly as simple as the vintage dymo label maker you may be familiar with. The instruction sheet is large and comprehensive. I even printed a label for the top of the machine to remind myself how to print multiple labels because it's not intuitive. That label, seen in the picture, is in the default font and medium size. This thing has so many options and capabilities I'm sure I will never use most of them. I really like the fact that it can operate on batteries making it readily accessible and handy when needed without having to plug it in. The printing and labels are top-notch although it took me a while to figure out that the backing is split lengthwise on the label tape. It will print an unbelievable amount of special characters and symbols. The only two caveats I have is that it takes a long time to figure out how to use it and to read the display you need a lot of light because it is not backlit. The labels are so nice I'm sure you will end up labeling things that really don't need labels, like maybe your spouse. ... show more

Extremely frustrating to use and wastes a LOT of the label tape. Even setting the margins to "narrow" causes the labels to print with a massive margin on one (or both) side that you need to trim. Also, label maker will just not print some letters (see attached picture). I would recommend choosing a different label maker. photo: both labels should read "x large" with narrow margins... instead I got "large" and "x large" on a massive waste of tape... edit: after reading the manual, watching some videos, and messing with the settings some more, I will be returning this label maker because it's almost completely unusable. Every label comes out with a mistake or needing to be trimmed by hand, so little to no point in having the label maker. ... show more
