  • No More Charging Batteries
Size: 1 Solar Color: White
This solar panel has been a great addition to my Ring camera. Since installing it, I no longer have to worry about taking the battery down to recharge. The solar panel keeps it powered consistently, which makes everything much more convenient. Installation was straightforward, and once it was set up, it just worked. It’s been reliable and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Overall, very happy with it and highly recommend if you want to avoid charging batteries. ... show more

  • Solid improvement over the original. Five-minute setup.
Size: 1 Solar Color: White
We've had the original Ring Spotlight Cam/Two batteries/1st-Gen solar panel overlooking the driveway for years. They've worked great, but recently the camera decided that one of the batteries wasn't charging, so I replaced it, but quickly found that the camera just wasn't recognizing a charged battery in one of the slots. Pretty frustrating switching batteries back and forth, only for the camera to continually demand I put a battery in "Slot 1," where there most certainly was one. So shopped around and got a good deal on the Spotlight Plus, and decided to also replace the aging solar panel (also avoided getting an adapter to get the older barrel-plug panel to plug into the USB-C slot in the new camera. I really like it. LIKES Build - Ring makes pretty sturdy gear -- both the old camera and solar panel survived a couple of mishaps on the concrete driveway with no issues. The new panel is likewise well-made and intelligently designed. Updated power and connection - Besides the new USB-C plug (a bit easier to use as it has no rightside-up/upside down) the new panel is larger, rated at 4 watts vs. the 2.2-watt rating of the older panel. This seems bourne out by how quickly it began to charge the batteries (the camera came with one, but of course now I have spares because I already had two in the old camera and bought a new one when it was acting up. Cord keeper -- The new panel has a very similar mounting bracket to the old one, and screwed right into the roof fascia board near the camera. But whereas with the older panels (I have two) I had to cobble together straps and ties to wrangle the extra cord, the new one has a handy spindle around the arm of the panel, including small notches to hold the wire in place once you've wrapped enough. A small thing, but a game changer in terms of ease and neatness of the install. No more bundle of cord zip-tied and hanging down (sometimes in front of the camera). The panel also included some cute little clips you could use to run the wire along a flat surface, but my panel is close enough to the camera that I just run it in a straight line (now nice and tight with the spool arrangement). NOT SO LIKES $60 is pricey for a panel like this. You can find compatible 4-watt panels on Amazon for less than half, but my understanding is they won't communicate with the camera, so they'll work, but the camera will never acknowledge it's being solar-charged. Given both my old Ring panels still work, I thought the combination of known quality and having the panel and camera play nicely was worth it, but others may not. Also, I understand instructions for everything are online somewhere now, but a simple diagram of the mounting procedure would have been nice. For whatever reason, I briefly started to mount the bracket horizontally, which would have been structurally weaker than vertically. Yes, dumb me, but a simple drawing would save some people from this issue. Five stars. Love the new cam and the panel and hope they perform and last as well as the 1st-gen setup. ... show more

  • Set It & Forget It—Works Perfectly!
Size: 1 Solar Color: White
This solar panel is a total game changer for my Ring camera! No more worrying about charging batteries all the time—it keeps everything powered consistently. Installation was super easy and straightforward. Once it’s set up in a good sunny spot, it does all the work for you. Even on days with partial sun, it still keeps a solid charge. The build quality feels great—durable and made to handle the elements without any issues. It’s been reliable and performs exactly as expected. If you have a Ring device, this is 100% worth it. Saves time, hassle, and gives you peace of mind knowing your camera stays powered! 🔒✨ ... show more

  • This actually works, and works well. (Going on 2 years now)
Size: 1 Solar Color: White
I was skeptical of a solar power system for a Ring cam, but it has worked perfectly now for 2 years. I placed 2 batteries in the camera, and I check the battery health pretty frequently (once a week, or two) and the battery level has never dropped below 45% one ONE battery, with the backup still at 100%. It was compatible with the solar Ring cam I bought, and easily installed. It just plays into a little usb type slot in the back of the camera. I mounted mine using a gutter mount, and it mounted easily as well. Needed a ladder, but no biggie. I was also concerned at first that the area I was planning to place the camera was on the shaded side of my home. This was not an issue. It apparently does not require much light to maintain the battery. In the one case ,y battery did dip down, it was because we were having new siding installed, and the camera was recording, and alerting CONSTANTLY for DAYS! I eventually just turned that camera off until the job was done, and by then the battery was fully charged again. I love Ring cams, and having the ability to use solar is a great feature. The only caveat is that the solar cameras are not quite as HD quality as the others, but it’s not a big deal. It still provides a motion light, voice control, and audio listening. If you’re debating on trying the solar panel for power, you can rest easy knowing it will work as all the rest of your Ring cams do. And it doesn’t use any power, so it runs for free! I wish all of them ran off the sun lol 😂 I hope my review helps. ... show more

  • Works Well, If You Get Sun
Size: 1 Solar Color: White
Easy to install and does a good job keeping your Ring camera charged—no more constant battery swaps. Downside: it depends heavily on direct sunlight. In shaded areas, it may not keep up. Bottom line: Great convenience if your camera gets enough sun.

  • Reliable Solar Power That Keeps My Camera Charged
Size: 1 Solar Color: White
The Ring Solar Panel (2nd Generation) has been a great addition to my outdoor camera setup. Installation was straightforward, and once mounted, it started keeping my camera consistently charged without me having to worry about battery changes. It doesn’t need constant direct sunlight to work well, and even with partial sun, it helps maintain a solid charge. I’ve noticed a big improvement in how often I need to think about the battery—basically, I don’t anymore. The build quality feels solid, and the adjustable mount makes it easy to position for the best sunlight. Overall, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do and adds a lot of convenience. Definitely worth it if you want a more “set it and forget it” setup. ... show more
