  • Great monitor. Worth the money.
This is a great monitor. Very light and it provides all the tools to ensure proper exposure. In addition, you can add a SD card with LUTS. You can monitor in native, Rec709, PQ, and LUT. It’s very very light and it’s battery efficient.. I really mean it. It has a regular size HDMI input but it doesn’t have an Out HDMI. Hope you enjoy it if you buy it. ... show more

  • Overpriced and Unreliable Broke within the first two months
Monitor has stopped working after having it for about two months. Thought it was something I did but now that I come back to read the comments I see it has issues. And very overpriced as well. When battery is plugged in the red light comes on but the monitor will not turn on whatsoever. Crazy that $300 gets you nothing now a days. ... show more

  • Shinobi Go
It doesn’t come with an HDMI cable, so if you don’t have one, forget about using this thing as soon as it arrives. I had to buy a short HDMI cable and also had to purchase a monitor mount. I got a Viltrox one, which came with both a monitor mount and an HDMI cable. After a few minutes of use, I noticed the back felt a bit hotter than normal. The bezels are ridiculously large. This could easily be a 6-inch monitor if it weren’t for the massive bezel. I would have given it 1 star just for the frustration of not including an HDMI cable when everyone else does. However, since the screen resolution is better than average and for weighting only 200g, I’ll give it a 3. ... show more

  • Lightweight, Bright Monitor
Atomos monitors are legendary for their design and performance among professional videographers and they also happen to be more pricey. This Shinobi GO is the entry level model in the Shinobi line even though it packs in features similar to it's more expensive cousins. The 1500 nit brightness allows the monitor to be viewed even in bright sunlight without a hood (Good since one is not supplied) and since I shoot in sunny Florida conditions this is a plus. It's light weight is also a plus when part of a rig. The GO has all the exposure assistant features you need and are easy to access via the touch screen. I particularly like that it includes wave forms and vectorscope. I use a dummy battery plugged into a V mount battery to power the monitor to keep weight down but it can also be powered with USB-C power delivery. I wish it had more capacity for Luts but it is limited to eight. I had a difficult time loading Luts into the monitor as it requires the SD card to be specially formatted. Had to google this info after repeated failures to load Luts. I do find that the monitor heats up quickly but it doesn't seem to affect the monitor function. I've had no problem with the performance of this monitor and it is especially helpful in monitoring Lut looks when shooting in Log profile. Although the quality is there, I feel it's a bit overpriced for the features you get. There are monitors of this same size with better brightness and more features for a lot less but I think the Atomos reputation will make the higher price worth it in the long run. At least that's the hope ... show more

  • Battery Not Included (Rookie Mistake?)
I’m fairly new to the photography world, but honestly one thing that I inadvertently assumed is that a battery would be included with the monitor. Maybe it was oversight, maybe it was just ignorance. But I feel that the packaging, website and YouTube should clearly state that the source of power it needs to function is not included. I really wanted to use this for an event, and I could not because of it. ... show more
