Great monitor. Some had issues with turning on with just battery power. Mine was one. After some back and forth with BMD the issue was resolved (no pun intended). It was repaired, but another problem popped up. The unit was subsequently replaced, and has been working well. The image is great. It's bright. It records to SD cards. It can be used as a webcam. Blackmagic Video Assist 12G is a great video recorder. I'm recording in 6K BRAW with my Panasonic S5, and Samsung T5 drives. The reorder firmware was up to date, and the packaging was excellent.

    • BEWARE - This label is incorrect!!!!
WARNING - the 5” unit is NOT standard SDI. You need the Micro BNC to BNC Male Cable which is not a common accessory in most local retail stores. You’d have to order it. Sucks that I ordered two monitors that arrived same day of production and couldn’t even use them.

    • No way to record audio other than it being embedded audio NO micro SDI to SDI adapter.
The size is mainly the reason I got this. Unfortunately I didn't read the description and it does not come with the micro SDI to SDI adapter which sucks and makes this rig pointless. Also, the fact that I do not have a way to pipe in audio other than it being embedded is a deal breaker. TBH, kind of a waste and a silly think to create and looks like the size was their only selling point. This wins in size, loses everything else. Bad move BM. ... show more
