Asurion has been a bit of a mixed bag for me. I've had multiple policies with them over the years, and it's definitely reassuring to know that I can get my devices repaired without extra cost. This has been especially helpful with my laptop, which has unfortunately needed a few repairs. Their claims process has become much more streamlined, and it's now easier to get a device sent back to them. They pay for shipping (mine was 1 or 2-day air with UPS) and even provide a padded box if needed. Plus, their customer service is accessible by phone or live chat. However, my most recent experience wasn't perfect. While the main issues were fixed, the laptop came back with a faulty touchscreen. It worked intermittently at first, but then failed completely within a week. On the plus side, the unit was clean, and the other repairs were successful. To be fair, my laptop has some special technology (a stylus and screen with AES in addition to the regular touchscreen), so this repair was probably more complex than usual. I likely wouldn't have had as much difficulty with a more standard laptop. Another downside is their policy terms. If a device can't be repaired, they don't reimburse the tax I originally paid or the remaining policy term. Instead, they refund the purchase price. While this helps, it can mean extra expense if the product was bought on sale or the price has gone up since then. In my case, this also meant I had to repay sales tax and other fees on the replacement, which added to the overall cost. Plus, I have to pay full price for a new policy. Despite these issues, I'm fairly happy with Asurion. Their insurance is valuable in situations where the risk of needing repairs and the potential costs are high. I think it's worth it for my daily driver devices, even if the price is a bit steep. Pros: Peace of mind knowing repairs are covered Helpful for devices that are prone to issues or expensive to repair Multiple policies/plans available Streamlined claims process Fast shipping and packaging provided Good customer service options Cons: Recent repair experience wasn't perfect (but likely due to the complexity of my device) Policy terms regarding refunds could be improved Price can be high No reimbursement for sales tax or fees on replacements Overall: Asurion is a decent option for extended insurance, but be aware of the potential downsides, especially regarding their replacement policies and the potential for additional expenses.

The housing on my Lenovo Laptop broke. I had this plan and contacted Asurion with the problem providing some pictures of the damage. They sent me a packaging kit and a return label to get it repaired. after 10 days I got my laptop back. During the 10 days they kept communication with me, I got 4 or 5 e-mails that my repair is being worked on. I understand that they might have to rely on parts from the manufacturer, which was probably the reason the repair period extended to the 10 days, I wasn't too upset about it. All in all it was a very good experience and I can recommend this insurance.

I typically don't write reviews and I seldom purchase protection plans as I expect lasting quality from the products I purchase--particularly from Apple. I was so glad that I purchased this Asurion Laptop Protection Plan as I experienced difficulties with my refurbished MacBook Air two years in but did not activate the plan until into year three when I finally purchased a new Mac after many frustrations with my older one. Asurion was prompt with communication and made numerous updates via text, email, and phone to ensure I was receiving messages. Their customer service was considerate, professional, and very accommodating with exceptional personal care. I can't say enough positive statements about this experience. My laptop was unrepairable and I was issued a full refund (Amazon Gift Card)! This seldom happens these days. I would heartily recommend purchasing this plan.

This is the third computer warranty I've had (not to mention many others I've gotten), and the first I've had to use having spilt liquid on my keyboard. I thought I'd cleaned it up quick enough at first and then after about 10-15 minutes it started going haywire and I had to use the onboard keyboard which was horrendous. It took a couple of days to get the shipping box to send it in which was a next day air label, and I sent it on a Monday, they received it Tuesday by 10:30 AM, I got an email it was completed in the process of shipping back on Wednesday, and I had the computer back by Thursday afternoon! Wow!! It took longer for me to prepare to back my laptop hard drive up on an external hard drive than it did for them to fix it, and the entire top of my laptop case, with the touch pad, and keyboard were replaced making it appear and feel brand new. Well worth the cost, and I learned how to and now have a back up of my hard drive I should've had long before this.

Firstly, I would recommend this coverage and in the end I found it well worth the investment. They replaced the HDD on my laptop for me when it failed, and did so quickly and efficiently. Phone support and tech support were excellent and well worth the cost. The online support - automated - was inaccurate, however, which is a significant downside since policyholders are directed to the online interface for claims. Initially, I was told (online) that my laptop was covered under the msg's warranty, which was simply inaccurate. That warranty had expired. There was no way to bypass or appeal this online, however. When I finally found a phone number and called in, the customer service rep was excellent, quick, and apologetic. The service from that point forward was perfect, shipping was fast, and the result is a working laptop without having to spend the $300+ to replace the HDD that HP wanted to charge me. Again, I am very satisfied with all aspects of the coverage except the online interface. Thank you for great coverage, but please fix the online aspects so that you can receive 5 stars there as well.

Our Victus laptop failed a year after purchase, and the warranty had expired. Fortunately, we had purchased an additional four-year warranty from Asurion. After the laptop failed, we promptly called their customer service, and they sent us a shipping box immediately. We then shipped the laptop out. Unfortunately they couldn’t repair it but sent us an Amazon card for the full amount of the laptop in less than a week.

This is a great service. I have cracked my screen twice and both times it was quick and easy to get it fixed. They sent my a shipping box, I dropped it off, a week later is was returned to me as new. Thank you!

Used Asurion to protect my laptop. My laptop stopped working, I could not even turn it on. I contacted Asurion , sent the laptop back and was informed that it could not be repaired and they sent a gift card for the purchase price. I contacted them and told them I would like the hard drive back since it contained very important documents and they said it was not policy and that info should be backed up before sending the laptop for repair but that wasn't possible since I couldn't even turn it on. They stated they would contact the factory to retrieve the hard drive and get back to me. They never contacted me so I called again and was informed that it is not policy ..... etc. It appears they never even attempted to retrieve the hard drive. I would have refused the reimbursement if I could have the laptop back to retrieve the data it contained. I believe there's a flaw in their policy as it pertains to this process. A laptop is not just hardware/software, it contains personal memories, valuable information and experiences that Asurion regards as unimportant and irrelevant to their business model. I must say Asurion is very efficient, like a robot, but like a robot doesn't understand the importance and attachment of the information that is contained in a laptop's hard drive. As in my case, sometimes it is not possible to backup the data before sending the unit. Asurion has a very efficient business model but lacks the flexibility to satisfy individual customer needs and requirements. Frustrated and distraught.
