There's 2 schools of thought with extended warranties: "waste of money" or "small price to pay to sleep better at night." There's also the "an electronic item will fail within the first 90 days, if it's going to fail & will be under warranty anyway." The balance for us is how much out-of-pocket will it cost for not having to worry about it...& if the cost of the warranty keeps you awake at night, then it's not worth it. We find Asurion to be a good value, especially for the moderately priced items between $200-$1000, an investment that we like to see 4-5 years of service from. This review follows a claim that was seamless. Purchased a ~$280 dehumidifier Dec 2021 with a ~$45 4-year plan. It started failing Sept 2023. We put the claim in Nov 15, 2023, and received an Amazon Gift Card code for the amount of the purchase (not the tax or plan cost) on Nov 16, 2023...It came so fast we didn't even notice it until the next week :D Processed the code right from the email & voila: Amazon credit applied. We do enough purchasing on Amazon to make it worth it, but I will say I was not aware that it would be an Amazon credit vs. credit to payment-method-used or bank credit. That's the only reason for 4-stars on the "easy to use" category. Worth it for us and super simple to use! ... show more

Glad I did this! They sent the value of the appliance as an Amazon gift card as soon as I shipped the thing back, and paid for shipping. It's especially good to have it in Amazon $ since I have sworn off buying new things from Amazon!

I usually get these protecton plans , but don't use them. But I read a review and I liked the eview so I decided to try it and see for myself ,IF, it was wrth it. I was pleasantly surprised 😮. And how quickly💨 I got a response! So when I ordered a replacement appliance, I made sure to get a protection plan. It was great 👍🏾 !!!!!! ... show more

I bought an extended warranty for my food dehydrator. Roughly a year and a half the units bottom cracked and then started to break apart. I first went on line and filled out the claim form and I was denied. I saw you could chat with someone. I did that, they were nice and after a few questions, they approved my claim. They sent me a shipping sticker, I mailed it, and within a few days they notified me the machine could not be fixed and I got my purchase price back in the form of an Amazon credit.
