I had bought a four-(4) year warranty on a portable generator and it quit working "properly" after about 3 years plus. Asurion rejected my initial claim but I ended up calling them and they took care of it after that. (That's why I'm knocking off one-star. )

This was probably the easiest protection plan resolution I have ever come across. I told them the item was no longer functional and they resolved the issue immediately. No weird jumping through hoops or contacting one guy who tells you to contact another and so on. Good Job.

Ordered a pellet smoker that failed while covered by this extended warranty. Filed a claim online and they sent me an email asking me to send it in for repair. This grill weighs 80 lbs. It would require disassembly and a large box. The cost of shipping (that they were going to cover) to them and then return back to me would be very comparable to the cost of the grill new. I went to their website and used the Live Chat feature. I explained that disassembling, packing and sending it in for repair was extremely impractical. It seemed as though when they first gave those instructions, they had no idea what the item looked like or how big it was. The rep agreed and cancelled the request to return the item and said that someone would call me within a few days to help me diagnose and repair the issue, which was the most acceptable option. That was about a month ago and I haven't heard anything from them since. This is the last extended warranty I will buy from Amazon.
