Well worth the price. I bought a portable PA system and figured for about $12 why not add the protection. Well I owned it almost 3 years and the button on the handsfree mic broke off under normal use and I couldn't turn it on. Although the handheld mic and speaker still worked, I really needed the handsfree set. Being a teacher being able to walk around the class and not have to hold a mic was very important. I tried just using just the handheld mic and didn't like it. I was about to order a replacement and remembered I added the 3 year plan when I purchased the system. I figured lets see what happens. Well, it couldn't be easier to file a claim. Went to their sight, put in my order number and description of the problem. Within a minute or so I was approved for a full refund on the entire system! They emailed me a return shipping label, I sent it back and the very next day I received my refund. I immediately bought a different system and I added the protection plan again. I hope I wont have to use it, but for around $10, it is more than worth the peace of mind.

Don’t be afraid to argue if they deny your claim. I had to call in to get to a human so I could explain why they should cover it according to the warranty. They finally agreed, but then I had to disassemble the units and send the bad ones in before they would give me a credit. If they would have done like others, they immediately issue the credit so you can buy the replacement. Then you can replace at the same time you take the old, non-working ones down. If you don’t send the bad units back in within 2 weeks, they charge you. Their way, I had to take the old ones down, send them in, wait for the credit to be issued, then buy the new ones, wait until they’re delivered, then go back and reinstall them. I may not buy another Assurion warranty based on what item I’m buying just for this reason. If you don’t want to be out of service or not have what you warrantied be in place (e.g., security item, business necessity, etc), then you may not want to buy their warranty.

Quick and painless. Received my refund in Amazon gift card compensation almost immediately after ups drop off. Had to go through that chat through. Asurion web page would not let me log on.
