I bought a higher end Sony 4k projector with a new type of chip and many new features compared to the projector that was being replaced. I know that the use of new tech products by non-savvy tech consumers is benefited by available competent tech support and I generally buy these products from a company known for its in-house tech support (in this case the product was sold out at all of the companies I usually use). I purchased this insurance since it claims to have 24-7 live tech support for installation and use. During installation, I had a problem with keystone (the right border of the display was notably shorter than the left border) so I called and the agent did recognize a keystone problem but had no idea how to fix it. He initially said that he might need to replace the projector, then that the projector required the special equipment team for resolution and no one was available. He gave me the number for Sony tech support, I called and got the runaround for 4 different calls and finally I got the guy who deals with projectors and he said rotate the projector slightly and the problem will resolve (which it did). Tech support is profoundly lacking at Asurion in my experience. IDK about the insurance component but I am going to try to return this product.
