I had taken the insurance plan, since we bought a DJI Mavic Air, and we were new at using the drone, so we were little scared if it gets damaged then it would be a huge cost. Unfortunately it did happen in June 2020, the drone dropped into water, we were worried and after sending it to DJI, they gave an obnoxious bill. Then I contacted Asurion and in 2 weeks we got the amount back of $ 998 as an Amazon gift card. Im really grateful for such an amazing service. It was Simple, Hassle free and Zero stress.

I added the Asurion insurance for an expensive lens that being used regularly outdoors, knew that it might be needed. Sure enough less than one year later I slipped on some ice and the lens cracked and lost fine tune focus. You get insurance for two reasons. Peace of mind that what you are insuring gets replaced AND not get hassled when you go through the replacement process! Asurion came through on both accounts and I highly recommend and will always purchase it moving forward for items that could likely get damaged.

That’s the best thing that can be said of any insurance process. It was fairly straightforward, despite their website having lots of loading issues and requiring me to contact customer support to finish filing the claim, but it was still relatively simple. I felt like I was conversing with a real human, rather than a bunch of canned responses, when I asked why my waterlogged drone needed to be shipped in for “repairs.” Obviously, that wasn’t going to happen, but the agent clarified that they needed something physical to hold on to in order to effectively validate the claim. Fair enough, but I still happen to think the video of it under a foot of water should’ve been sufficient. Anyway, maybe with a week of turnaround, I had my full purchase amount sent as an Amazon gift card. Definitely one of the easier insurance matters I’ve dealt with, but that submission and lookup process needs serious work, since if I didn’t take it upon myself to double-check that everything went through with the chat agent (which it HADN’T), then I would’ve been waiting around longer than needed while nothing happened. Just keep that in mind.

3 months ago I bought the drone and a 3 year insurance plan, after 3 months the drone fell out of the sky, I sent them the drone to fix, but a few days they said it couldn't be repaired and told me Paying the $909 gift card I will use to buy a new drone, my question is do I have to buy this insurance plan again?

I paid $999.99 for a DJI Mavic Pro platinum and paid an additional $50 for insurance. I sent it in for repair because I crashed it. You would think good thing I paid for the insurance. After receiving my "fixed" product, I am missing my back up battery ($120) and the charger! How do you return someone else' product without all of the parts?! I am shocked I even got the drone back! Beyond frustrated. I received my product but is not good without being able to charge the battery or remote. And again I paid $1k for the drone plus the insurance and this the service I get. Either someone stole my battery and charger or they are incompetent and forgot to send it back. Currently is being escalated. HAVING SAID THAT. If you send anything to asurion for repairs take photos of what you are sending them and document it. When you send in your product they have you fill out a sheet with what you are sending. Do you due diligence and document EVERYTHING. Could it be an honest mistake? Sure, but as a consumer, willing to spend the extra money on insurance, I expect better service.
