I've bought this protection plan and others like it for various electronics (and other important/expensive items) that I have bought from Amazon over the years. I understand that others have had bad experiences either submitting or getting reimbursed for claims but I've have had only good ones. When submitting a claim, it could take a couple of days to get the claim approved. First, they may ask for things like the model or serial number, etc. (depending on the item). You need to understand that they may ask to get the item shipped back to them first (at their expense of course). If you buy an electronic part (say) for your car that is needed to drive it, you may be stuck not being able to drive it for days, maybe a few weeks. So if you can't go at least a week without the item, this isn't right for you. (I got an extra beater car for when Murphy's Law kicks in. I'm not new to this game called life.) You'll normally just get reimbursed the original purchase price (not including the extra insurance cost you paid) of the item in question as an Amazon gift card. (You will not get reimbursed back to the original purchase type like credit/debit card). Once you ship, its been my experience, that they just send you a code for the Amazon gift card like a day or two after. I haven't had to wait for them to confirm they have actually received it first. They just want to make sure you have actually shipped it. I've had scenarios where I've bought the replacement item (say alternator for my car) first to get back on the road as soon as possible and submitted the claim afterwards. Now I have an Amazon gift card to use for other items on Amazon. If this isn't ideal to you, then insurance through Amazon definitely won't be right for you. Keep that in mind before buying it.

After my PS5 started acting up and I couldn’t play any games I procrastinated it but after doing the claim everything else went smoothly the directions and how they handled the final result was quick, sucks my PS5 couldn’t be fixed but hey with the reimbursement I was able to get another one with the protection plan again so if this one goes bad as well I know it’ll be fine

Amazon does have a decent protection plan for their stuff. But as with all things the small print must be noted on how many times it must go to the original manufacturer first, which is usually three times. Then Asurion will start to help. But for price not bad and in the end do protect products.
