Asurion is the worst insurance company I have ever worked with. I ordered an ASUS laptop in July 2025 via Amazon with Asurion protection. Four months later, my laptop's screen stopped working. I filed a claim with Asurion and sent them my laptop. They had my laptop for a day (maybe two), then sent me an email and text saying they couldn't fix my laptop and I'd get a refund via Amazon gift card. They didn't ask how I wanted the money back, nor did they give me other options, so I thought I had no other options and redeemed the gift card. I ordered a laptop and protection plan via Amazon and then immediately canceled the order because I realized I wanted to order the same laptop. Well, that laptop wasn't in stock via Amazon (only Best Buy). I messaged both Amazon and Asurion to ask that they unredeem the gift card so Asurion could send me a check and I could go and get my laptop from Best Buy. Both Asurion and Amaon said there was nothing that could be done, so I was stuck with a $1,400+ credit in my Amazon account that I couldn't actually use to buy the computer I wanted. I ended up having to use a credit card to get the laptop from Best Buy. My issue is this could've been avoided had Asurion given me the option to get the money back in my form of choice. It's not hard to send an email saying "We can't fix your laptop, so we're giving your money back to replace it. Please select how you'd like your refund: Amazon refund, check, direct deposit, etc. Just sucky. Do better, Asurion!

I never thought I'd review a product, but I'm greatly appreciative of this protection plan. My gaming laptop (about $1500) just broke down after almost a year of use. I first sent it to Asus since it was still under warranty, but it was determined customer-induced damage so I'd have to pay about $1100. I then turned to Asurion for help and began the process of sending my laptop. The process was basically: Start a claim > Fill a form regarding customer information and laptop details > Proof of purchase of laptop and protection plan > Wait for the package (up to 5 business days) > Send the package back with the broken device. I didn't spend a dime in that whole process. The day after they received my laptop it was considered unrepairable and so I was reimbursed the full amount for my laptop. I'm purchasing this same plan for the new laptop I'm buying :) Thanks Asurion

I am very impressed. I had to use this insurance for a cracked screen, and I was afraid there would be red tape or it would take too long, but the hardest part of filing the claim was flipping the computer over to read the serial and model numbers (i.e. ridiculously easy). With that info they told me immediately that it was fully covered and they could repair it, and sent me a box with packing material to send in the laptop. The packing material arrived one or two days later, with a prepaid UPS label. It took me a few days to send it in because I kept forgetting to get a drive to back up everything and delete my personal files, but once I did, I took the packed computer to a UPS store and waited. They notified me the next day that they received it, two days later they emailed me saying it was fixed and they were shipping it back to me, and the morning after it was at my door. The plan cost me less than 10% of the price of the laptop, and the best part is that if it gets cracked again before the end of the two years, I'm still covered. Amazing.

Fast response when my laptop just decided to quit. Overnight to them. The only reason I gave only 4 stars is their communication after product is in their hands. Weeks went by so I had to contact them. They let me know that the Laptop was done for and I would be getting a full refund. 2 days later I got a call to tell me they are sending an Amazon gift card for the laptop. Within 30 mins I had an email with the gift card. I purchased another laptop and I purchased 4 years protection from them. Spot on and well worth it. Just need to communicate a little better.

I bought a 2015 MacBook Pro in 2019 on Amazon and got an Asurion extended warranty for $150 - money well spent. A early this month my screen got a crack. Asurion sent a package next day air to my house. I took a few days to send it in because of Christmas. On Tuesday, I took the package to the UPS store, Wednesday they confirmed they received it, by Thursday they said the repair was done. Friday early afternoon - I had my laptop back in working order. Quick. Great service. They even made sure the laptop was functioning correctly and tightened all the screws, which fixed another small issue. 💯 recommend on electronics.
