I have purchased the protection plan on other products in the past, and have been fortunate to not need them. However this time the ice machine failed after the warranty expired. The online process was a little confusing, as it determined there was a manufacturer warranty still in effect. The ice machine had 1 year, and it is almost 2 years since new. Once I found the chat button, not easy to find, the agent promptly rectified the situation and issued a refund, allowing me to purchase a replacement machine. I was told the refund would show up in 1 to 2 days, it was available that same evening. I did not hesitate to purchase the protection plan with the replacement ice machine. ASURION Claim department will give you the run around forever and a day ! I have been on the phone with 6 different people at ASURION at the results are still the same, claim denied because of receipts, improper documents, items not submitted...etc... the complete paper trail for the purchase was and has been submitted several times,all legible and in the frame of the picture/email. If you can get another protection plan from some other company do it ! ... show more

    • Good way to insure your devices
Quick and easy resolution to my claims. I had three and the only issue I had was that I had to use the manufacturer warranty during the first year for one of the products when the first item failed. I’m not sure if that was a wasted year on the Asurion plan.

Getting the Asurion 2 Year Appliance Protection Plan was a fantastic choice. As my countertop ice maker played out & when I looked to see if it was still under warranty I realized it was. I called them up & within just a very few minutes they had reimbursed the price paid for the unit via a gift card to Amazon, which was where I purchased it. I’ve not had to use one of these before, but I bought it for an icemaker that sits on the table top. And it was a little more than a year after I bought it that it died and stopped working. So I tried to do an online completion of a claim. It had me call them and it was the easiest phone call in the world. The person was very nice. Helpful. And I got a full refund on the item I bought so I could replace it and get a new icemaker of my choice. They sent me an Amazon gift card that I received within a few hours. They told me it could be anywhere from 24 up to 72 hours. I went ahead and added another protection plan on my new icemaker. I don't usually get extended warranties but I've had bad luck with ice makers and my current one was no exception. The warranty process was so easy and I was very happy with the quick response and gift card to my Amazon account.
