Just for disclosure, I am reviewing this even though I have not yet used it. It kind of defeats the purpose to wait until you need one of these to actually order it. Although I haven’t used this yet, I did previously own another one that I did use numerous times. Actually, an awful lot of times. I will compare what I know about this one using my old one as my bar for comparison. Immediately, upon receiving this, I felt that this was much better quality than my previous one. The wires are thicker and more heavy duty, it has a much better quality case to store it in, it’s heavier and just all around appears more heavy duty and of quality construction. It has a boost option that I am not familiar with, but I’m anxious to try. I also love the fact that it has a digital display to tell you how much power it has left. My old one only had a series of three lights that would light up. If it was on two lights, you were pretty much assured it wasn’t going to start your vehicle. That one also took forever to charge. This one arrived at 67% charge and only took about an hour and a half to get to 100%. Although I haven’t used this one yet, I know it is only a matter of time. I have a love for all things gas combustion engine. I have five cars, two motorcycles, four ATVs, two tractors, and five riding lawnmowers spread out among various homes. I have to buy several batteries each year because something is always in need of replacement, and in the summertime, there’s always something that is dead and doesn’t want to start. This appears to be a well engineered and high-quality product. That will save me a lot of stress and headache when the time comes that I do need it. It is clearly much better built than my previous one and at a better price. Full disclosure, I was given this car battery jump starter as part of Amazon's Vine program in exchange for an honest review, positive or negative. This jump starter, designed for vehicles with up to 8-liter motors or 6.5-liter diesel engines, is a product I've recently added to my emergency car kit. While I haven't had to use it yet, have owned another one like it. This one is better. The quality of this jump starter struck me immediately. It's a noticeable step up from my previous one, with thicker, more heavy-duty wires and a sturdier storage case. Its weight and overall construction exude durability and high quality. It has a digital display which I like. I am confident that when the need arises, this jump starter will perform reliably. After a full charge, I tested its capability to charge various electronic devices and found it works well charging by phone. After of month of sitting in my truck, I was down to 98% charge after a month, which is impressive. The instructions say you should always charge this every few months, so I put a reminder on my Google Calendar so I won't forget. All the component fit into the case easily, unlike my last one that would only fit one way so it was like a puzzle each time. It's better to have this jump starter and not need it than to need it and not have it. If you're considering a reliable and well-constructed jump starter, this one seems to be a good choice. So glad I got this. I actually had a chance to use it the other and it didn't disappoint. I had installed some new chargers in my truck and apparently one of them was still drawing power with the truck off. I came out the next morning to a dead battery. It's a 5.7 liter engine in the truck and a big battery so it takes a good jolt to get it going. I put this charger on and let it sit for a few minutes. It goes off if you don't use it within a short amount of time, but I just clicked it back on a few times. After trickling some power into the battery for about 5 minutes I decided to try and start it up and it jumped to life! I normally would use a much larger jumper for the truck but this one happened to be in reach so I figured I'd try it. Happy to report that it did the job well. So if this starts a big truck it should start any passenger car with no trouble at all. ... show more
