My fault that I did not read reviews first. It is a plastic toy. Not sturdy on the tripod. We could see the moon with much difficulty lining it up. The moon was not clear. Want to see stars ? Forget it.

I opened it tonight. For early learners, yes. Good for the money. However, it's kind of flimsy. Feels sort of cheap. But it works great don't get me wrong. I just don't want you to be disappointed. Doesn't work whatsoever. You will not see a star, you will not even see the moon if it were full and close as it's ever been. This was a true waste of money. I should have spent the extra $40 and got him the better one. Disappointing is an understatement. You'd think for this price you could at least see a star or the moon.
