I got this because I wanted to do a lot of traveling and have my fishing stuff outside of my car if needed. Here are the good parts: It’s very big and has a lot of opportunity for storage. It’s not too heavy so I can put it on my car myself. It’s a little taller than other roof racks so it does keep my things more secure. Here are the bad parts: I can definitely feel the wind on it while driving. My car is lifted and a bit taller so it makes it worse for my car. The clamp parts that connect it to the bars become annoying to put on. Every time I try connecting it, it doesn’t fit exactly the same as the other parts. The clamp parts also leave a bolt pointed up so items easily get stuck on it. If you’re going to buy this, make sure you get silicone sealant and truck bed spray. It has definitely kept mine going for more than three years and I live in a rainy area. ... show more

This came packaged tight and nice... good shape ... and took about 10 minutes to assemble. Directions were not great, but it was simple enough to not need them. I didn't attach it to cross bars, but instead, put some weather stripping foam strips under every other bar and just sat it on the roof of my car between the luggage rack. Then strapped it on with 2 ratchet straps, and loaded it up with a cello, guitar, back packs, iced chest, etc. and strapped it down with a bungie net I purchased on Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BTLL99G?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. Then drove 1500 miles with out any issue at all. I set it on the roof to make it a lower profile thing, and when I get home it will be simple to take off. I'm not recommending this way (as I'm pretty good at making sure things are tied down) but it did ride nice with no wind noise, because it was "on the roof" not sitting 6" above the roof on the racks that most people attach these too. I also turned the front grill around so it was just black with no "label" on it. ... show more

Real pain in the ass to put together because one of the rods were bent, trying to line it up to slide in the hole was a huge pain in the ass. Plastic knobs are absolute garbage I repeat garbage.

This unit seems solidly made and was fairly easy to put together. One of the videos here on Amazon helped alot with organizing the parts and placing them correctly for assembly. I immediately didn't like the way the mounting brackets were supposed to have the knobs facing up which means anything laying in the cargo basket couldn't lay flat at those points. You can see in my picture how they rise above the level of the rack floor. I inverted the mountain brackets and put the screw knobs near my roof so that now the bottom of the basket is flat. You can see in one of the pictures that I added a small bumper made of nylon so that the screw would not hang as low so it would not interfere with my sunroof. I considered using 6 mm locking screws on all the mounts but instead used threadlocker on the original knobs. Finally, there is a black bracket that goes on the back of the basket which seems to be only for looks and doesn't need to be attached at all but since I did like the way it looks, even though it probably will decrease aerodynamics and thus slightly gas mileage, I changed out the knob on this part for a 6 mm lock nut because because that knob also would have interfered with the space inside the cargo basket. If somebody wanted, they could just put the knob on the back outside the basket but I didn't like the way that looked. Overall, the basket seems like it's going to be very useful and it looks amazing on my car but I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars because because I think my mountain arrangement looks and will work far better but it wasn't the original video instructions. ... show more

This is a nice low budget roof basket. One thing I do not like is how the center or floor rails do not fit together. Tge basket still feels sturdy and I do not plan to haul heavy items so I do not expect any problems. The basket was a simple assembly and looks great on my Jeep Cherokee XJ.

This is a cool looking, easy to install rack. That said, you MUST rust-proof it right out of the box. I don’t live in a humid climate and it began to rust within two weeks. I had to disassemble and luckily customer service provided a small refund to help cover the cost of purchasing paint/antitrust. This seems common in other reviews. You’d think they would just do this themselves before selling this product? Otherwise, it’s a solid rack that I plan on using for awhile. ... show more

Needed this for a cross country move. It worked great but added A LOT of wind noise. After 16hours and an unload it came off and was put away until needed. Although mine hasn't rusted if you look around you will see the same make on various cars and trucks and at the joints there is aways some degree of corrosion. Would I buy it again if I had too?
