My eldest babe (5yo) is a nail chewer.. we’ve tried many of these on Amazon & she manages to chew through them in a week or so. This brand has held up for at least a month so far, with no signs of breaking. Would recommend as a good alternative when helping someone try & stop biting nails.

This is perfect for my daughter. She used to chew her fingers until they were bloody and then started even biting her own arm. She has some autististic behaviors. It took a few weeks for ger to get used to it, but after gently and repeatedly encouraging her to chew the necklace instead of herself, she doesnt go anywhere without it. It even seems to calm her when she is stressed or over hyper. I have had the string fall out a couple times but you just reknot it and pull it through the clasp. Also, the clasp is perfect for her because if she doesnt want it she can just pull it off herself. This actually is safer than a clasp that is super strong too because there is less chance they can get it caught on something and choke. It may not work for every kid but it works great for her. You will only know after you give it a try for at least a few weeks. If your kid is like mine, she will take time to adjust to it.

My 5 year old daughter chews her hair, nails, pencil caps, toys, you name it when she is nervous. I got this necklace for her in an effort to help her chew something that won't cause her harm. So far,so good. She instantly loved it because she loves Legos and because it is the first time I have said, "you can chew on this when you are nervous!" It looks cute on her and not like a chew toy...only feedback I have is that length of the necklace is a bit long and I wish it could be adjustable. But other than that, I hope this necklace will help her get out of the habit of chewing on everything!

This chewy has been amazing for my son, who just turned 7. The purple one is much stronger than the green one, and seems to be holding up to my son's level of chewing, so I have purchaces a couple of them. One to stay in his teacher's desk, an for at home, and one for a back up if one of the others gets lost. My son loves the texture and says it feels good in his mouth. He has been able to wear it at school and has not gotten in trouble for using it as a toy. It has made a huge difference in his ability to focus and get school work done. Between last year's teacher and his current teacher, they both have noticed a HUGE difference when my son has not had his chewy. That is why this year I gave his teacher a clear box, with my son's name all over it, and this chewy for her to keep at school to help him. I recommend this to anyone who has the urge to chew on something. ***pay close attention to the product details for each chewy.*** Each color represents a different level of toughness. Each type of chewing will have a chewing level, and it does make a difference. You may already know the level of chewing that is going on and can go straight to what you think might work best. Or, you may have to start with one, and change the strength that you buy next time. That is what happened to me. I didn't know there were different levels and I bought my son a green one, and it turned out to 've one of the softer levels and ended up getting pretty torn up with my son's level of chewing. I moved up to a strong level, being the purple chewy, and that one has been perfect for him.

I’m the type of person who almost constantly has something in my mouth. I have tried other chewlery but it just fell apart within a few days. So I decided to get the XXT strength. This is perfect both for nibbling with my front teeth and for chomping down with back teeth. The areas that I chew on most are now slightly softer than when new, but are showing no signs of tearing. I’m a pretty aggressive chewer and this holds up for me. I can see how this might not be tough enough for some super extremely aggressive chewers... But people that chew that aggressively are not going to find anything at all that they can’t completely destroy in a week. My brother can make a lego completely unrecognizable in a matter of seconds!

It’s correct in that it’s SUPER sturdy to chew, and the cord in quite long. I think it would be good for an intense chewer but too much for mine.

Daughter doesn’t destroy shirts anymore at school so fantastic. She has bitten off a couple small pieces, which is it be expected of any chew toy eventually, so be wary of kids swallowing small pieces of plastic. Would not recommend for a child not old enough to understand swallowing pieces is wrong.
