Product description looked great. Reviews did as well, so I bought them. Upon opening the package, I knew we were in for an experience. Instead of "heavy duty rubber...that exceeds OEM standards" I was holding a set of tracks that were easily 75% plastic, with a hint of rubber. Hard, stiff, not pliable at all like the OEM tracks. "...these tracks fit snugly and securely..." No lie there! I'm 6'3" and 240 pounds. In order to get these on, I had to loop one end over my shoe and then use both arms to stretch them enough just to get over the drive gear. These put so much strain on the drive gear the cleaner was left immobile unless I had 100% of the suction dedicated to the cleaner, and even then it was crawling. To those folks that rated it 5 stars and the best thing since sliced bread; good for you. For those that have read this far into this review, take it from a logical, educated (School of Hard Knocks & Experience) person: Continue your search beyond this product. If you find that your Baracuda MX8 is getting stuck because of loose tracks, try just replacing them!! There are a few other maintenance/replacement parts that you can get for the Baracuda MX8, which is precisely why I purchased this -- these parts make DIY maintenance a breeze!! And there plenty of online videos that can take anyone, even a child, through the simple process. But long before you will need to replace any of the other parts, you will need to replace the tracks -- they do wear out and become loose, causing the cleaner to stop moving. I ordered these when my OEM original tracks wore out on my MX8 Elite. The work stellar, and I'm not sure why some reviews say the fit is too tight. I've gotten 3-4 sets over the course of the past year and they all went on fine and the cleaner runs like a champ. My only complaint, and the only thing keeping these from a 5-star, is that I have to change them about once every 4-6 weeks, especially in the summer when the pool runs the longest.     • Treads don’t work! Too Cheap! Too tight!
Treads were of a hard rubber or cheap plastic and inflexible. They were too tight on the wheels and prevented my MX8 from moving at all. Very disappointed ... especially after replacing nearly all the other parts until I had a pro tell me I was a sucker for buying cheep treads. Ya get what you pay for. ... show more

Not useable for my pool setup. They are very stiff and difficult to install. My pool cleaner and skimmer share suction, which has worked for 7 years. In order to get the pool cleaner working, with these treads, I needed to increase the suction so much that the skimmer stoped working. Perhaps I should have read the other reviews more carefully. They sell a Great Product. They shipped and arrived when they were supposed too. They seem to fit a little tighter than the original ones that come with the unit and a little tighter than the ones I have bought in the past which is fine with me because they will stretch a little over time and I believe that is what causes them to wear out faster because of the loose grip and slipping on the drive wheels. ... show more

Get original several people have repeated that they are too tight and do not let the cleaner spin. I've replaces all bearings and internal parts along with gears. When you install the Zodiac cleaner with out the belts it works and works with old belts. When you put these knock offs they are to tight will not spin. You can get after market bearings but do yourself a favor and get original belts ... show more

I have a Baracuda MX8. My cleaner tracks would fall of and it would just spin in circles. I'm SO GLAD I found these. i was hesitant to buy them at first but am so glad I did.
