  • AquaTru: Unrivaled, lab tested and certified Water Purification
When you buy water filters, you never know if they are as good as the marketing. This one is and it has the receipts. The AquaTru desktop filter excels with its high-performance filtration, validated by rigorous third-party certifications from the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), a global leader in water treatment standards. These certifications confirm AquaTru’s exceptional ability to deliver safe, pure water, setting it apart in the market. The AquaTru is certified to the following NSF/ANSI Standards: Standard 42: Removes aesthetic contaminants like chlorine and chloramines (97% chlorine reduction), ensuring great-tasting water. Standard 53: Eliminates health-related contaminants, including 99% of lead, cysts, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Standard 58: Verifies its advanced reverse osmosis technology, removing 84 contaminants, including PFAS (98% reduction of PFOA/PFOS). Standard 401: Targets emerging contaminants like microplastics and pharmaceuticals (95% reduction). Standard P473: Ensures robust PFAS removal, addressing “forever chemicals” with a 98% reduction rate. Tested in IAPMO’s cutting-edge laboratories, these certifications guarantee AquaTru’s reliability and safety, instilling complete trust in its performance. I’ve encountered some negative reviews, but they lack credible evidence and don’t align with my experience or the rigorous, IAPMO-verified data backing this filter’s quality. For those seeking a certified, high-performance water filtration system, AquaTru is a premier choice. Its IAPMO-endorsed standards make it a trusted solution for clean, safe water! ... show more

  • Great water purifier!
UPDATE 4/2023: I just replaced the #1/2 filter after I was alerted that it was depleted. The system is still going strong and working well. I sort of don't like how much water to tend to waste in cleaning out each basin each week and also when emptying out the tap water tank of the dirty water but on the other hand, it still uses less water than an under sink RO system. The water out of this tastes consistently very good and I tend to add a few drops of sea minerals to each glass to make my own mineral water. While there is not a whole lot different between this wifi model and the non-wifi model, I got this model and don't regret it. The main differences are you can check the actual percentage left for each filter and also the built-in TDS readings for each tank via the app. With the original model, it would just tell you when the filters need replacing and it would be a guessing game how long from now that would be. I do wish the app would tell the actual TDS numbers; currently it just says low medium or high, which is not that useful. I moved from a Berkey and could not be happier. The water tastes a lot better. The Berkey water always tasted a bit like rubber to me. And this also provides purified water much quicker. You can go from an empty tank to a full tank in 10 minutes. And, no fiddling around with having to prime any filters with your faucet, etc. AquaTru is also certified to NSF standards, unlike Berkey. I sometimes just drink the purified water out of the AquaTru but usually I like to remineralize it with deep ocean minerals. I use Whole Earth & Sea, Deep Ocean Minerals for that. The AquaTru filters seem to last a good while (they need replacing at different rates so the app tracker comes in handy for that) and they don't seem overly expensive. Great product overall! ... show more

  • Never works
When it works, it does a great job of filtering, but what's the point if it only works 2/10 times? It doesn't seem to matter what you do to it--turn it off and on again, descale it, replace filters, etc.--it'll work a couple of times and then not work the rest of the time. It'll stop filtering midway through the process, refuse to filter at all, refuse to switch on, refuse to recognize new filters, you name it. Absolute waste of money. It's a shame because the filtering process is one of the best, but again, what's the point of how good it is if it NEVER WORKS. Trying to get any customer support for this machine is a joke. They rarely ever respond, and when they do, it's broken English with a vague suggestion of switching the machine off and back on again. It doesn't matter the question, the problem, anything, the same recommendation of switching off and back on again. Gee, thanks a bunch for that, customer service! WASTE OF MONEY. ... show more

Pros - Good quality water (tap vs this water plus the taste is good) - You don’t have to bring bottles ($360 annual bottle cost for us) - refills are cheap ($180 for 2 years of refill) - it’s not noisy when filtering Neutral Points - It takes around 12.5 mins for filtering 3 liters (takes 1 gallon as input and filters 3 liters from it) - given our consumption wr have to filter twice a day - all 3 refills have different life but I don’t you’ll be able to run them out of life because of consumption. For example yellow filter works 600 Gs or 6 months. So doesn’t matter whether you consume 300 Gs in 6 months or full 600 Gs. More people better. - even if you only use it for 1 year, it’s still cheaper than bottled water. Cons - You have to do a basic clean every week given our tap water quality. Soap + water. - You have to refill it proactively because if you need instant water you might need to wait good 3/4 mins. (1 liter) - given our tap water quality, desalination is needed, may be quaterly(I have only done it once so far, it’s working fine for me) - app is very much okay ish ... show more
