Beyond impressed! Our pool pump had died in the middle of the evening I came home. It sounded a little funny. I turned it off just to see if there were something stuck in the filter. It was clean so I went to flip it back on and that’s where she died. I did a lot of homework looking to find a similar pump and instead, I found one way better. We have a roughly 15 x 25 swimming pool 10 foot deep in the deep end not really sure how many gallons a lot. The one I had was only a 1.5 hp and was having a hard time finding another one that was 1.5 hp and was genuinely looking to replace the pump with the exact same pump until I found that the exact same pump was like $800 considering how long they run and how consistent they work maybe not the worst price tag but for a last minute near the end of the summer unexpected purchase more than I wanted to spend. So I found this one that’s a 2 hp and yeah you do need to be careful even with half of a horsepower difference. If you have any flexible plumbing, it is possible that it could collapse the hose and it would be a prudent decision to also upgrade your cleaning hose to a professional grade one they do exist and they’re not that more expensive than a regular hose otherwise the hose can collapse in on itself and as I’m sure you know once that happens to a section that section becomes prone to collapse more often. I love this one runs on a regular 110 outlet so I can stop running basically a dryer 24 hours a day. My electric bill was getting crazy because my last one was at 240 V I like the extra #Warranty you can get through Amazon but also through the company. It is very quiet. The install was very easy. Already thinking about when I close the pool here in a few weeks how easy it will be rather than leaving my pump out in the elements all winter since this one isn’t hardwired in that I can drain it and move it into a barn or a garage or heck, even just a box so it’s not being totally exposed but it makes it very easy since it just plugs in versus being hardwired. The timer was super easy to set up. All you have to do is like how many hours you want to run and then push on at the right time. So not like a regular time where you can set the time of day or anything like that so if you want to turn on at 8 AM, you have to go down there and turn it on once at 8 AM and tell it to run for 10 hours. And even though I have hit the power button to turn it off so I can sometimes clear out leaves or bugs or whatever is caught in the filter. It does not lose its place in the schedule as long as you don’t unplug it. So not only does it run on less electricity. It is slightly stronger, which really does have the water really moving in a good way but it has a timer built-in for so long my wife and I I’ve just been burning through the electricity and I know it sounds lazy, but our pool isn’t exactly controlled from inside the house so it is awesome on the electric bill to now not have it running all night and that it’s running less electricity but it’s very quiet all the connectors that came with fit perfect I’m about two months in on it. I did get the extended warranties because I read other people‘s reviews and to be honest I’m not concerned at all. It is nice to have that as a fallback and at this price point getting a little extraWarranty for some peace of mind isn’t so bad. And I’ve never been more excited to see an electric bill in my life.Lol great purchase great product. You will not be disappointed.

I've owned this for 15 months and it's still held up great, for a far, far lower price than the expensive name brands. I've had no issues with it, including no leaks. A great feature is that it has regular, standard American plug on it, so you can simply plug it into a regular, standard outlet and the pump will run. This has two benefits: 1) you don’t need to hire someone who can hardwire it to an electrical circuit. 2) whenever you need to move it, you can just unplug it. The scheduling features are good and pretty easy to use and change. The suction works great. The size is quite compact and nice for a pump with 3 horsepower. It looks nice for a pump. Also, the company’s customer service is excellent. I needed help with something and they responded quickly and thoroughly. I was a bit hesitant before buying it, but it’s worked out great. In the last 15 years, my experience with buying non-brand name products on Amazon is that they usually are almost the same as the name brands. This is because the patent protections are weak in China, so the companies who manufacture the name brand products, they either: A) sell the same products themselves through Amazon at a far lower price. or B) they leak the production details to other factories who make them and sell them on Amazon. Often when I look at many reviews, the name brands have similar percentages of complaints, including a portion of people who get a dead-on-arrival item, or one that’s defective or that breaks in the first year. All manufactured products have a portion that are duds, even at the name brands. With this product, I figured that because the name brands are triple the price, that even if this lasts for half as long, I’ll still save 33%. For example, if a pricey brand is $1,000 and it lasts for 8 years, and during that time I buy two of these for $667, I’ve saved $333. And based on past experience plus how well it’s worked for 15 months, I think it will last for roughly as long as the pricey brands. I highly recommend it.

Replaced an old 1.5hp pump with this 2hp (MORE POWER!!!) for an above ground pool at about 12k gallons. No real setup instructions or screws to tac the pump down to the platform. After redoing the 1.5” pvc with rubber fittings to attach to the pool, pump, filter, and heater, on low speed everything seems fine, but not enough suction to vaccum. On high speed, the pump to the filter has a slow but steady dripping leak, and occasionnally generates enough force to pop off the rubber fittings, which causes a lot of water loss. The pump itself is quiet even on high. Digital display is bright enough in direct sunlight.

5 stars all around; value for price; warranty length; and warranty fulfillment. (submitted after 15 months of ownership). I have an inground pool, originally installed with a single speed pump. When the pump failed after 15 years, I searched the internet for similar (familiar) brand-name pumps. I discovered single speed pumps are no longer popular, and I was repeated referred to options of dual speed and variable speed pumps; with price ranges that were far above what I "needed", "wanted", or "in budget". Then I found AquaStrong, 2HP, single speed pump for inground pools on Amazon. The value of what I bought, beat all of the competition I had considered. I purchased my AquaStrong pump from Amazon on 03/31/2025). Not only was I satisfied with my original purchase, but the original manufacturer's warranty was for 2 years, which exceeded all of the competition offers I had considered. Then, I was pleasantly surprised when the pump arrived, the customer service/warranty department, offered an additional 3rd year of warranty coverage (at no charge), merely by "registering" your model and serial number. After installation of the pump, I remained pleased with its performance for summer of 2025 and spring of 2026; that is, approximately 10 months of use over 15 months of ownership. In June of 2026, a plastic component that attached the pump to my filter plumbing cracked; and the leak it created made circulation of pool water impossible. When I contacted the customer service/warranty department, we communicated briefly by email (with photos attached), and they confirmed that my warranty was in effect, with a full time span of 36 months (as promised). They then sent me the replacement components to successfully reconnect my pump to my filter within a week. My pool filter is back on line, and my family is once more able to enjoy our pool (with minimum down time, experienced). - Ernest C. ***********

I have had expensive Hayward pool pumps in the past. They were loud and rarely lasted more than 2-3 years. I decided to try my luck on a less expensive product with this Aquastrong pump. The Aquastrong pump was ordered and came in the mail very fast. Hookup was a breeze! (I did have concerns with the 16awg wiring it came supplied with for 220v, but my electrician confirmed it would handle 220v and a 20amp breaker since the pump came factory wired for such a load. However, I would like to see this product supplied with thicker wiring in the future just for peace of mind). After hooking everything up, I primed the pump for a minute, closed the basket top, and let it do its thing. It is the QUIETIST pump I’ve ever had and have been very happy about that! All that being said, I did develop a small leak between the motor and the pump housing after a few weeks (not sure what would have caused that so quickly, but water is really good at finding its way to places you don’t want it to be). I emailed Aquastrong since the product came with a 2 year factory warranty (another reason I chose this product). They asked me to send a picture or video of the leak. I did that, and without hesitation they agreed to ship me a new product. The communication was prompt and took less than 48 hours to resolve. I give this a 5 star review because I was thoroughly pleased with the product, and the company that stands behind their product made things right without hesitation. If my replacement product develops a leak in the same spot in the next few weeks, then maybe I come back to this review, but for now with all things considered, this product has earned 5 stars from me.

Great pump, just make sure you really review the description. Bought this to replace a dead Hayward pump on my 22k in-ground pool. Rereading the description, this pump sits about 0.75” lower than my old pump. After some pvc finagling finally got it installed. Unfortunately I didn’t realize that with the head height coming from the pool it was only moving about the same amount as a 1hp pump. Just not enough. On an in-ground pool, or one a little smaller, this will definitely work for you. Still, giving it 5 stars because it definitely moves the water and is SUPER quiet. I also loved that it worked well with my external timer. With a timed setting on the pump which held at the last setting, once the external timer would kick on and it would run what I set.

I replaced an old 2hp pump/motor with this 3hp pump/motor. First off, I like the blue color. I had to re-pipe the water lines since the pump and motor are both smaller than the original setup. I added a coupler on the horizontal pipe leading from the top of the pump to make it easier to line up the vertical up/down pipe. On my first install attempt, even after a lot of measuring, I inadvertently left the up and down pipe at an angle. I also left the flange that screws into the pump housing off the pipe so I had to cut it to correct both of my issues. Right above the pump, you can see where I added a straight coupler. On the horizontal pipe just above that, I added a threaded union. Those to additions, corrected my initial plumbing errors. The pump itself is working great. I don't have a way of measuring flow but the water flow in my pool doesn't look much different from the previous pump. Sound wise, I believe it runs smoother than the older pump and this one is noticeably quieter. The filter basket in the pump is different than the original but also larger. I really like the crystal clear lid that lets me to easily see what is inside the basket without having to remove the lid. One issue that I did have is on the electrical. This pump comes with a pre-installed electrical cable. Codes in my area require permanent installations to be wired with conduit. I needed to replace the water tight fitting where the electrical cable goes into the electrical box. However, the thread of the original coupler that came with this pump uses a finer thread than the standard couplers found at the hardware stores. That made installation of the electrical wiring difficult. However, I got past this by slightly heating the new coupler until it was barely pliable then forced screwed it into the electrical box (without the wiring of course). Not the most professional way but it threaded all the way in and provided a good weather proof seal that is secure. I included a picture of the motor already installed. I have the motor sitting on landscaping blocks. It took me a couple of trips to the hardware store to find the combination of pavings stones that provided the exact height level, but I found them and it worked great. The included video is to show the noise level of the pump. Disregard the beeping sound though, that is a different system that I have on in the background and nothing to do with this pump. In the hot sun, I can't say whether this pump runs hot. However, from what I can tell and by just putting my hand near it, I can attest that it runs way cooler than the unit that it replaced. Obviously, the old unit was on it's last leg so not the most fair comparison, but that is the only reference point that I have. This pump/motor combination cost me less than buying just the motor alone that failed. Value for money is a definite and by registering the unit, they are currently giving an extra year for the warranty. After also shocking the pool then cleaning the pool filters, the water is crystal clear. Glad I went with this pump.

This review applies to the 8100 gph, 1.5 Hp, 220V, single speed Aquastrong pump. I purchased this pump to replace a Hayward "SuperPump" SP2607x10. It's the 3rd Super Pump that I've had to replace since we moved into the house 10 years ago...not impressed with Hayward. On the other hand, for the money, this Aquastrong pump has performed well for the first two months of its operation. On paper this 1.5 Hp pump performs similarly to the 1 Hp Hayward that I had been using; this pump tends to operate ~13 psi whereas the SP2607x10 tended to operate around 15 psi. With regard to installation, this pump is easier to install than the Hayward - specifically the electrical connection. With regard to piping compatibility, I had to add 1.5" of height as compared to my Hayward installation. I also had to slightly shorten the 2" suction adapter in order to get it to work with my suction line. Nevertheless, these issues are relatively minor...the pump still does a good job of delivering flow and has no problem with self-priming in my configuration. The only reason that I withheld one star was bc of these two issues: 1) I prefer the sealing lid that is part of the Hayward design (with screws that hold down the lid) and 2) I prefer the pump basket that comes with the Hayward. The Aquastrong basket seems to have a little finer filtration; while that may be a good thing for the pump/sand filter, it also makes the filter basket harder to clean. However, for the money (and the warranty), this pump seems like a very good alternative to the Hayward options.
