This thing works wonders! I had an uncontrollable green already bloom. You couldn't even see the fish. I bought this and just 5 days later it looks 90% better! If you have a problem with already blooms, get this!

Although the booklet that came with this product stated that the lamp would last 8,000 hours about a month 720 hours I noticed that green water was coming back when I checked the lamp it had stopped working.

My water was densely green in my 65 gallon outdoor tank. I have more than enough filtration and aeration, but the indirect sunlight outdoors just does a job on the algae as the tank is in the shade. In two days the water was crystal clear. This UV light pump is well worth the money. I hope it lasts a long time. It seems to be in a sturdy housing and was easy to assemble and install. I'm not sure it pumps 400 gph as it advertises, but it does do the job on the algae. I would highly recommend. ... show more

Set up a new tank and I knew it was fully cycled. But had a white algae bloom then it went to a green algae bloom. Tried everything to get rid of it kept getting worse. Little skeptical about this UV filter. When I got it set it up did a 50% water change. Let the pump run for 24 hours for 4 days and it was completely clear. For a week I ran it for 2 hours every day just to make sure it was completely gone. Definitely would buy again definitely works if you do it you're supposed to do into a 50% water change. If I wouldn't have it probably would have took 2 weeks and please don't stare at my wife in the corner LOL ... show more
