I've had this LED light for about a month now, works pretty well. It makes the colors in my tank look really good, especially compared to those old incandescent bulbs (i swear i saw one smoking once). I'm not sure how it compares to other LED lights, but it definitely does the job. My plants have been growing like crazy since I got this thing, and they used to be pretty sad looking. The timer is nice too; just set it and forget it. No more accidentally leaving my light on all night (I've done that a few times before). Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. It did take me a couple of tries to figure out how to adjust the brightness though. Turns out you gotta hold down the plus or minus button for a few seconds instead of just tapping it. Took me longer than i care to admit, but once you get it figured out it's easy enough (and kinda fun to play around with). I would definitely recommend this light if you're looking for something cheap and effective. My friend has one too now because he saw how well mine was working. We even tried setting up a race to see whose plants could grow the tallest, but his ended up winning by like an inch (I think he cheated though, maybe added some growth hormone or something). ... show more

Great price for a light that made my tank feel like a whole new tank. The lighting changed the entire appearance of tank. Was contemplating getting rid of tank due to being older and lights for it are no longer sold. Was able to buy this and fit it in tank perfectly. This brightness of LED is so crisp white and clear. Easy to use button on side that turns it on and off. Cord to plug in is very good length so if you need to plug in to outlet further away. Installed in 3 minutes. Would buy again. Thin adjustable bracket arms that extend if necessary fit my aquapod tank perfect. It’s durable and Iv splashed it with water and had no issues. ... show more

Seemed pretty bright and was hoping to use to grow macro algae in a miniature 5 gallon marine Refugium type tank. I got a little bit of growth right under the light, but parts of the plant just a few inches off center did not grow and started to die. You might be able to use two of them for better coverage- obviously significant PAR drop off must happen outside of a narrow angle. Note I had the light resting on the tank with the included tank rest. I have replaced this light with an AI Blade for freshwater and it is significantly brighter and spread looks better so I’m sure better growth will come. I will reserve this light in case I ever do a fish only nano- it would be great for that and is very economical. ... show more

    • Quite disappointed. Only lasted three months to the day.

Quite disappointed. Purchased June 28, 2025. At first, worked great, love the timer feature, so as not to leave it on 24/7. Love the different light type settings. Great price. Exactly 3 months to the day (Sept. 28, 2025) it quit working. Behaved as if it had shorted out. Wouldn't turn on properly, sometimes not at all, some of the LEDs would light, some it. Flickering, turning itself off, or not turning on at all. If this were still in the return window Inwoukd send it back for a refund. I do not recommend this item at all. Spend the money, go to a legit pet store/fish store, buy a reputable aquarium light. I live in a rural are that is quite a drive to such stores. This seemed like a convenient solution. EDIT/UPDATE: The seller reached out to me and wanted to offer me a credit on the light. I had already tossed it in the trash after making my review, but they credited the purchase to my account without question, apologizing for the faulty product I received. Considering their customer service effort, I am amending my review to reflect on their efforts to make it right, even though I never returned the product for credit or requested a return by the time it stopped working, the return window had already closed.)
