Since we have already closed down the pool for this year, this bag of non-chlorine shock will not be needed until next September. It came well packaged, and I can assume that it will work just as well as other brands of oxidizer that I have used in the past.

Our pool is always clear and beautiful. Aquadock Winter shock makes it easy to open in the spring. We are always shocked how clear the water is when removing the cover to open for the season.

I have used this product to close our inground pool for the last 4 winters. The pool is always clear when opening in the spring! If you want clear water when opening your pool, then use this product!

We picked this up on the recommendation of a family member to use with Lo-Chlor to close our pool this winter. Our pool was growing algae when we added it and we waited 3 days. The algae seemed to be disappearing from our 15' round, 5' deep pool, but it wasn't completely gone. I am not sure if this completely works or not. I hope it does, but we closed the pool after a couple more days. We will know for sure when we open it next May. Fingers crossed all is OK. The price is not too bad , so I would be willing to buy more than one if needed for my pool.

This is a pretty good price for non-chlorine shock, whether or not you are using it to winterize your pool. Since I have a large saltwater pool, I tend to avoid conventional shock treatment bags from the hardware store because I am trying to keep my calcium and cyanuric acid levels under control and my chlorine levels are usually 3 ppm or above anyway. This is a great solution for breaking down contaminants if you've had a lot of swimmers recently. I also have poured this type of non-chlorine shock directly onto black algae patches to kill them successfully. One bag is good for 12,000 gallons, so you might need a couple or more if you have a large pool.

We have not closed the pool yet and are waiting for a new cover. We have a hge tree and lots of leaves drop in the pool. Algae is a huge problem. This "Shock" looked like a good idea. We won't know until the Spring. It seemed like a good price and was well packaged.
