One and a half years latter...ask me any question you want to about this splint and I will tell you this....the Vive splint WITH THE STRAP TO GO AROUND YOUR HAND IS THE VERY BEST ITEM THAT I HAVE TO KEEP MY FINGER IN PLACE AND PROTECTED FROM BEING ABLE TO FORM A FIST. A Trigger finger (A joint in a finger that literally LOCKS IN PLACE and is VERY PAINFUL TO STRAIGHTEN OUT)... This LITTLE AID IS THE BEST....PROTECTS THE FINGER/JOINT, keeps you alert to how you are using your hand and provides relief from the intense pain of a trigger finger. My Physician said it can be a long time for the finger joint to heal and he is correct in that statement.....my Vive Splint Brace has made it bearable while my finger(s) ARE healing.

It works well when middle finger knuckle is very painful,,with movement or use. I made a few adjustments.I put a bandaid on my upper finger and loosened it so it wasn't rubbing.And put a piece of tape on top of the end piece that has velcro, so it would not get caught and then come loose when I am sleeping. It definitely helps with my pain.

Been using this for about 6 weeks now, for trigger finger of index finger. I almost returned it due to the many negatives, but was too desperate with a finger that screamed if it accidentally got bent or bumped AT ALL, and I simply couldn't find anything else that looked any better. I am a female with hands a bit on the large side, like a woman's large or a man's small. Pros: 1. It keeps the finger almost completely unbendable. The tighter you cinch it, the more restrictive it becomes to your finger bending, but if you go too tight, you can cut off circulation. I adjust mine throughout the day, tightening it when I have strenuous things to do, and loosening it when sleeping, for instance. 2. The non-slip pad makes the brace sit comfortably against your finger, and that part stays in place well. If your finger is sore all the way down into the palm, the end of the pad presses a little there, but you can adjust it some, and if your fingers are longer than mine, it might not even touch. Although mine was very tender there, I could tolerate it. 3. The diameter is adjustable across the end of finger, as well as across the lower part of your finger, so you can customize it based on your finger size as well as swelling, which in my case changes hour by hour. 4. Washable in washing machine (on gentle) and dries in minutes. I spray it with alcohol after going out to kill covid germs, and wash it about once/ week. 5. The velcro is strong and holds very well, even after all this time. Cons: 1. As someone else mentioned, it "could be a little longer." I think a better design would have been to elongate the finger pad and make the long strap (nearest your palm) actually come across your palm, not your finger, either above or below your thumb. 2. The velcro catches on anything and everything made of fabric (your bed covers, curtains, your clothes, other people's clothes, kitchen towels, etc.). I've tried every possible way of wrapping the straps (incl running the long one around wrist), but the velcro always snags on something. 3. The fabric is poor quality. It's pilling, fraying and has stretched out of shape in spots. 4. If you pull your hand out of something (like your coat sleeve), the brace slides off your hand quite easily. I find that to get it tight enough to stay on, it's too tight for comfort, so it's a fine balancing act. 5. You can't fit your hand into any type of glove while wearing this, even giant work gloves, owing to the thickness around the finger and the strap going across all the fingers, unless possibly if you wrap the long strap around your wrist, not fingers - but that's what stretched mine out of shape! Hope this helps someone!

I've been wearing the splinter for a week and it is more problem than it's worth. The velcro on the strap around the hand no longer stays attached and the top portion of the velcro where it is stitched in place has started getting snagged on everything. It's not worth the money.
