Honestly, after reading the reviews, I was very skeptical about these light mount and went into the purchase with the notion I could always return them if they were junk. I have the old versions with the two solid bars and did not find mounting this flex mount any more difficult than those. Needless to say I, I am happy and they did exactly what I needed it to do alleviating shadows in my 8' frag tank. I first tried one on my rimless cube as a test and it worked fine. They are now on a rimmed tank. Again, no issue. They included a flared nylon nut to attached on the end of the nylon screw for more biting surface area as well as a cut to fit rubber pad for the other (dry) side. I tapped the lights to see if they would bow, slip, slouch or give. Nothing. If they do decide to go for a swim for some reason later on down the road, Ill be sure to update this review.

The light was great once we were able to get it connected took 2 hours to get it connected and it is still flashing blue and green and can't mess with it or it will turn the light off completely. Customer service wasn't really able to help just told us what was on the instructions, which we had already done! But with how great our corals look we can deal with the flashing blue and green!

The mount seems like pretty good quality but I gave the install 2 stars due to the mount not being tapped with threads for plastic bolt to go through. I build race cars for a living and I had a tap set available but I’m sure there are some customers that don’t know how to do this.... QC department was caught sleeping....

Great product I am using it on a Prime HD for my nano mixed reef love being able to adjust the light to exactly where I want it to be and the arm looks clean and helps streamline my rimless aquarium.

It's a 5 star mount as far as the construction and ease of putting this on a "Rimmed" aquarium... My biggest complaint about this mount, is the screw connector that screws into the AI Prime. Why has nobody mentioned the biggest flaw in this design is the screw end of the mount is about 1/2" diameter and the hole on the light has a cord 1/4" from the hole where you screw the mount in. This causes the mount to pinch down on the cord that comes from the back of the light. I only felt safe screwing the light halfway because the pinch is so severe. This cheap mount is going to cause my Prime Power cord to be cut and possibly fray or cause electrical hazards. FAIL!!!!

I had the rigid mount which looked good but could only be used in the center. I wanted the mount off to the side so I could use the middle chamber on my Innovative Marine Nuvo Fusion 10 gallon. This does the job. The mount is updated and improved over what is pictured.

I originally had the all metal bracket arm but the mounting portion left a large exposed end that prevented the aquarium from sitting flush against the wall. I hesitated with this one only because I was concerned about the style. I changed it out and couldn't be happier. The Arm is very sturdy and can pivot out of the way for cleaning and looks very nice and clean over the aquarium.
