The flat full length ribbed step pad has so much better shoe grip than the tube type with 20 inch hard plastic pad under each door. We purchased these for our 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 4x4 pickup. These running boards are awesome! Thin/streamlined so it doesn't make your truck look like it's a low-rider or sitting on the ground like thicker bars such as nurf bars can do. Even though they are made of some sort of plastic, we did powder coat these and they held up under the extreme heat. We weren't sure they would. We pulled the skid rubber off and let the powder coating company do it's thing. Of all the items we had powder coated, it was these that we thought would be destroyed. These did great. The toolbox is what suffered... but that's another review. Once we got them back, we took the extreme double sided sticky outdoor tape from 3M (or Gurilla) and stuck the rubber strips back on. It has now been over a year and it's just like new. The only issue we have is we did not get the brackets powder coated (weren't sure how that would look so we left them black) and most of the paint has come off them and they're rusting. We put over 100,000 miles a year on our vehicles, so these haven't had light use. The truck is never garaged, but is washed up to 3 times a week (she needs to look pretty for her job). The next set we purchase, we will powder coat the whole thing. They were easy to install (even in the dark) and have held up really well. I absolutely would buy another set of these! The 5" boards look great on my truck, 2018 Silverado Crew Cab. I had originally ordered the 6" but cancelled those and ordered the 5", i was afraid the 6" would be to wide and not blend well by sticking out from the truck to much. I'm glad I went with the 5", when pushed all the way in they line up pretty much with outside of tires. I still have plenty of board to place my entire foot on when getting in and out of truck. The installation videos on You tube I watched before receiving them helped make the installation easy. One board had a small nick in the top edge so I placed that side towards the truck, the second board had a couple of dimpled spots on the underside, no big deal on either issue. All in all a great product. I will mention to cons I found with the boards, both dealing with installation. First the right front bracket is a lot harder to deal with than it should be. On the Silverado 1500 where you don't have to worry about a DEF tanklike on the 2500, a bracket that is the same as the other 5 included would work and make installation much easier. Would have been a 30 minute install time if not having to use the special bracket. Second issue has to do with mounting bolts for the boards. The bolts have a square head that is supposed to keep them from turning when tightening the locknut, do not put much tightening pressure on these bolts as one of two things happened on mine, either the square head is not large enough and digs in the aluminum and starts spinning or the small bolts are cheap grade bolts and the threads strip easily when tightened causing the nut to spin, either way you cannot tighten further, and I don't think I will be able to loosen those nuts if I have to remove the board for any reason. I would recommend this product but, if the company sees this review, there are a couple of issues that could be improved. I would have given 5 stars if not for the bracket and bolt issues.

i ordered these for my dads 2015 Silverado. they look perfect. fit perfect. the installation took about an hour to put on. it came with all the hardware to put it on and once you get one side down the other one is a breeze. they are sturdy and the quality of the metal is really heavy duty. I looked on many different sites for some running boards for his truck and none seem to be worth the money the were asking. These are priced way lower then what they are worth. The 4" fits and looks perfect. i think the 5 inch would be too big. my dad was excited and he loves them they look really good on the silver Silverado. definitely recommend these to anyone who is looking for flat running boards with a slim profile.

Best $200.00 I ever spent. Easy to install, we had them installed in about an hour and a half, but only because my husband is a perfectionist and takes things slooooowly. The fit my 2009 GMC Sierra HD Duramax perfectly and look great. What a difference it makes to have a step up. I wish I had not waited so long, but I have always hated the look of running boards, especially the tubes. These are clean lined and look great. I am very happy with them. I will mention that one of the boards was a little warped when we got it, but we were able to hold it down and keep tightening it, and it straightened right out nicely. I have only had them on for a week, so no comment on durability, but it looks like they will hold up nicely. At this price, honestly, I wouldn't mind replacing them if need be in five years, or so. But, I don't think I will need to . I am surprised at the nice quality, and very happy with the the look.
