Description

API MELAFIX Freshwater Fish Bacterial Infection Remedy soothes the transition from store to home by reducing the risk of your fish developing a disease. The fish you bought may already carry a disease. Disease is often difficult to detect, particularly in its early stages. Treat bacterial infections in your fish and reduce the risk of spreading illness to other fish with API MELAFIX Freshwater Fish Bacterial Infection Remedy. Bacterial diseases are caused mostly by dirty aquarium conditions and the addition of infected fish. Fish that are injured and have open wounds are especially susceptible, even in seemingly clean tanks. Bacterial infections, like fin and tail rot, eye cloud, pop eye, body slime and mouth fungus destroy tissue and other organs, and if left untreated, can cause death. API MELAFIX Freshwater Fish Bacterial Infection Remedy is an all-natural antibacterial treatment that heals open wounds, treats bacterial infections and promotes re-growth of damaged fins and tissue, usually within a week. Just add 5 ml per 10 gallons of aquarium water. It will not adversely affect the biological filter, alter the pH or discolor the water. For effective treatment, dose infected fish daily for 7 days, and continue afterward if necessary. Dose new fish daily for 3 days. Remove activated carbon from filter before use, if possible. With API Aquarium products, it’s easy to keep a beautiful saltwater, freshwater or reef aquarium. For over 50 years, API has been creating innovative, research-driven solutions that make it easier to care for your fish and aquarium. API Aquarium Treatment Supplies are designed to work in conjunction with each other to provide best results to control algae, promote healthy bacterial growth and help control and cure fish diseases and conditions such as ich and fin rot. They work to provide a safe, hospitable environment for fish such as tropical community fish, cichlids, goldfish and more. With API, you can spend more time admiring your fish, and less time scrubbing your tank. Make sure to use all products as directed in order to ensure the best results.

  • Works as intended
I bought this for our colony of guppies and it worked like a charm! It took about a week like it said but it definitely did the job! I would highly recommend this product to anyone!

  • Amazing
This stuff is amazing. We honestly thought my son's beta fish was a goner. He's been lethargic and not eating for over a week so we finally bought this and within three days he's swimming and eating again.

  • Works well
This is just what I needed to fix my fish's fins. Not sure how he got fin rot but this stopped it from progressing. You take out the filter, use the med for 7 days, clean the tank with a full water change, and the fish is good to go.

  • Saved my fish!
I got a poor little Betta fish from a chain pet store (probably my first mistake) and I was so excited because he was tri-colored and had a beautiful teal look to him! And he was what I was looking for 'red/white/blue' I was so excited! Well he got put into his new tank, and he didn't seem to be moving around much, even for a betta which I have owned in the past. I started taking a closer look at him about a month after I got him, and he looked to have fin rot. He had been biting his tail in the tiny cup which is hard to see in the photos... So I got this neat stuff because it's less than half of betta fix, is the same active ingredient, and has a higher concentration. Win, win, win. Started using it in his tank on a regular, adding one drop per gallon with an eye dropper and doing regular water changes. And would you know it, he started changing colors! Now I'm not saying that this stuff will make your fish morph like it did mine, but it will save them if you use it as instructed for what it is meant to be used for. What I didn't know at the time of buying him is that he had a SEVERE bacterial infection all over his face and sides. That white I thought was part of his color WAS HIM BEING EATEN ALIVE BY THIS BACTERIA. This medication is designed to get rid of that bacteria, which is what causes fin rot as well. After using it for about 3 months on a regular I had a completely different fish, literally. He was so much happier and looked even more vibrant and had much more energy to inspect and even flair at my camera and show of his beautiful colors. Long story short, if you use this, USE IT FOR WHAT ITS MEANT TO BE USED FOR AND YOU'LL GET GREAT RESULTS. I know I did. I still have little ATO to this day (I've had him for about two years now) and he now has an entourage of shrimp palls to keep him company. In the picture provided you can still see some of the bacteria on his face around his eyes, that's long gone at this point but I couldn't get a good picture for him from today. Little bugger keeps teasing me and then swimming away, ah well. These ones will be good enough. ... show more

  • This stuff works
Poor Mr fish fish was at deaths door. He had both feet in the grave while standing on a banana peel. I purchased this with the hope that it would help but really just expected that he would pass within a day or two. Two weeks later he is doing so much better. I’ve been treating each night and removing my carbon filter every time. I quarantined him to a hospital tank prior and cleaned and replaced everything in his tank. I cycled through for about twelve hours before acclimating and putting him back. I then began treatment with this and I honestly dumbfounded that he is not only still alive but looking so much better. I do have a bubbler in my tank to help circulate after reading some reviews. I’ve been doing 25-50 percent water changes every three days. Either this is the toughest beta alive or this stuff actually works. Update: still with us and healthy after using. I plan on stocking up on this stuff. Use an air stone to circulate water. Treat for 7 days. I did with a water change every two days. He was pretty bad. I’m so glad I bought this. ... show more
