  • Very easy to use and works!
Pattern Name: Fish Powder
I use fine and body cure as a preventative (in conjunction with API General Cure) in the quarantine tank when receiving new fish or when I see one of my fishes tail starting to change color and I'm not sure if its fin rot or not. I typically move the fish to a separate quarantine tank when treating but I have used it in community tanks with no ill effects on my various fish and invertebrates. ... show more

  • Saved my fish!
Pattern Name: Fish Powder
Don't like using medicine like this in my all natural tank but when you have 2 or 3 fish die within days you have to do something! Used this as directed and no more fish loss!

  • It didn’t hurt anyone!
Pattern Name: Fish Powder
I’ve seen so many complaints about this product, and I’ve concluded 3 thing. 1. Most people don’t read the instructions. 2. Even the instructions need some tweaking. 3. You can get better results with less work. Firstly. The instructions say that for every 10 gallons, you need to add 1 (one) packet. So, with some quick math, if you have a 2 gallon tank, you should split 1 packet into 5 parts. And put each dose in as 1/5th, not a whole packet. 1/5th per 2 gallons you have. Now; I took out my filter cartridge (you leave this out for 5 days your fish takes the doses), and I put in the first dose, and my betta was fine, no issues and he didn’t get stressed or anything. I added the second dose early in the AM. By the afternoon, that’s when I took out 25% of the water to give new water. Then I gave him the third dose the next morning; no problems. And then finally, on the last day, I gave him the 4th dose in the AM, then flipped 25% of his water in the PM. Finally adding my filter cartridge back into the filter. I did this because I realized how mucky the medicine seems to make the water and I had the mind frame where adding too much or having too much is worse than being under a little bit. It seems that a lot of reviews with bad experiences look to have too much in the tanks (from looking at their photos and comparing the result I got). That being said though; was this some great, magical cure? Well, no. It didn’t hurt my betta at all! If anything, yes, I think it helped his gills a little bit but after trying another product that is actually a water conditioner, I realize that this product is kind of a hand full for what it is. And that even better results can be achieved without the fuss that these give you. The product I now use, that brought my fish back from the dead after rescuing him from a dirty container, is actually also by API, and it’s the “Stress Coat +”, the bottle says it makes tap water safe and protects fish; but seriously, if your fish is in need, go find that product instead. Same company, different label. The cap has a 1ml measure at the bottom of the cup. So same deal, 1ml per 2 gallons. Good luck! ... show more

  • On the fence...
Pattern Name: Fish Powder
The product seemed to work with the first dose, which is 2 days of adding the powder. Fish definitely feels better, but when we did the water change and added the second dose I started noticing that there was more blood in her fin, and on her back near her tail... Bumps on the fin, as well as peeling skin near her tail... So I called the fish store near me and they said to do a 50% water change instead of 25% and put the carbon filter in. Already noticed improvement in the Fin and tail by diluting the treatment... Frankly I used less than what was called for on both doses. Concerned about overdosing.. also when they said the treatment causes water to turn this slightly yellow, her water was more like a dark brown, which was concerning too... Still having some issues, but doing better, so I'm going to use a different medication that was suggested to me... So as I said, I'm on the fence because she is doing a little bit better, but that seemed to stop at a certain point, and created more issues externally.. the photo I submitted shows the color of the water now which is quite a bit lighter than it was. This is the color of the water after a 50% water change and using a carbon filter... I have a feeling it's going to be a long time before the water color gets back to normal... ... show more
