I received this less than a week after ordering it, so that was very fast. It was relatively easy to put together, taking about thirty minutes with just two of us. The remote is nice and I also like that it has the exact same controls behind a panel in the front, just in case you lose the remote. The fireplace is beautiful, with dark cherry-colored wood and it's bigger than I thought it would be. The mantle on top is just the right size for a TV, so it fills the space even more. Even though it wasn't specifically a corner unit (for some reason, corner fireplaces are much more expensive than a standard rectangular unit), it angles across the allotted space quite well. You can't actually tell it's not a corner unit unless you check the back. The only thing I kind of dislike about it is that the heater is quite audible when running (but not distractingly so). It's more of a steady hum in the background that you quickly learn to tune out. I also got a noise generator that sits on the mantelpiece, set to a classic "fireplace" ambiance. With that running, the soft drone of the heater is pretty easy to ignore. This is a great fireplace for a small apartment that can't have open flames, like mine. I always wanted a cozy fireplace and now I have one. The heating unit does unfortnately drone quite audibly, but that's my only minor gripe with this thing. The media could not be loaded. This is the perfect addition to my century apartment! Measurements provided were accurate so it fit as expected. The size was perfect in my space and is just beautiful. It is very well made, solid, and the flame is realistic! I like that the flame level is adjustable. When the heat is on it puts out a lot of heat! It was easy to assemble and was well protected in the packaging. My two boxes arrived on two separate days but seller was excellent in providing tracking and answering questions.     • No thermostat to control so runs constantly, probably not as energy efficient as you might hope

I googled best energy efficient electric fireplaces in hopes of getting something that would help keep my older apartment warm and help keep my electric bill from being so high. This fireplace came up and I read about it and it is beautiful, however I missed the fact that it DOES NOT have a thermostat which can turn the heat on and off as needed, so therefore it runs continuously when you have it on. Not sure how that translates to energy efficient. I bought two of them, one for living room and one for kitchen dining area. They are beautiful when assembled, and the assembly is easy....too much styrofoam to dispose of, which is never disposed of, never breaks down, but that is another issue for another day. I would have packed them back up and sent them back but the cost of that would have been one months electric bill as well..soooo...anyway, just be aware that when this is on, it will stay on....forever....until you turn it off due to the fact there is no thermostat to regulate...it does have two heat settings...high and low.... Overall it is beautiful, esthetically increases the room value, but if energy efficiency is your ultimate goal you might want to look for something else. ... show more

    • LOUD WHISTLING SOUND AND NO HEAT

Bought the fireplace in November 2020 and really liked everything about it, especially the appearance. UNFORTUNATELY the fireplace insert stopped working completely a little over 1 year. Only a couple weeks after the year to date. It was making a pound whistling noise along with no heat. The insert was only used a few months of owning it considering it was not used in the warmer months. I tried many attempts corresponding with the seller sending messages, emails, sms text containing videos and explaining the above problem. All that I received from seller was messages requesting all of which I mentioned. Consequently the issue was not resolved. Leaving me with no choice I had to purchase a new insert again from same seller, because, I couldn’t find the exact size to fit. I would not recommend this fireplace because it broke after having it a very short time of use and seller did not help to resolve the problem. ... show more

I was panicking when putting it together because it appeared a part was missing, but it was just erroneous instructions. It was easy to put together, I did it myself and I'm a 64 year old with a bad shoulder. The biggest issue I have is with the packaging it was shipped in. It was FULL of Styrofoam and I absolutely hate that crap. It can't be recycled, so I had to break it all down into small pieces and stuff it into my trash. It filled the can THREE TIMES, with no room left for regular garbage, so it took weeks to get rid of it all. Please encourage using cardboard instead. Please... ... show more
