  • Great portable projector for some impromptu family fun, supports YouTube accounts unlike older model
Great little projector. Works well in dim settings like camping, the park, movie night outside, etc., but obviously not very useful during daytime since it's only 200 lumens. Great for watching home movies from the phone with the kids before bed. I had some questions about the product that I couldn't get clear answers for, so I'll put them here to help the next person: Q: Can you log into a Youtube account in the app? A: Yes! Since I pay for YouTube premium to remove ads, this was important to me. This was not supported on the older Capsule. (Note: I'm not talking about YouTube TV app which isn't available on the Max). Youtube Kids is also supported. Q: Does the Max support Netflix and Hulu out of the box? A: Yes, both are supported and work well. The apps don't work great with the remote; some things require mouse mode which just isn't that great with the remote, but works perfectly via the Nebula Connect smartphone app. Q: Can you rearrange or remove default icons on the home screen? A: No, not in the latest firmware as of Nov 9, 2020. Q: Is Disney+ supported? A: No. I've read that it's possible to get Google Play Store enabled by contacting support and installing it that way but have not yet tried. Q: Does the Max play well with AirPlay? A: Yes, much better than I even expected. I wanted to play home movies from the IOS Photos app and it was as simple as clicking Share, then Airplay, then selecting the Capsule. Screen mirroring from the IOS Control Center also worked well, but keep in mind it will not support copyrighted content. Q: Is there any type of zoom functionality to increase/decrease the picture size? A: No, the only way is to move the Max closer to or further from the screen. Q: Can you project onto a ceiling? A: Yes. This was an unexpected bonus, but it works well and so does autofocus and auto keystone correction. But you need to be careful how you place the projector for this. The cooling fan is on the back, so you shouldn't lay it on a blanket directly, and its shape prevents it from staying in proper orientation on a flat surface. I used a tripod with a 90deg tilt. Q: Is the speaker loud? A: Surprisingly yes. Loud enough that I ask the kids to turn it down. Q: How long does the battery last? A: I've gotten just under 3.5 hours. When you setup power saving in the device, it claims a max of 3.5 hours which seems to be on the dot. The 4 hour claim here and on the Anker/Nebula sites is when playing local content with WiFi off which I did not verify. Hopefully the above will help the next person looking to purchase this device. ... show more

  • Best Projector I’ve Owned!
This little projector is by far the best one I’ve owned in terms of performance, picture quality, sound, size, and ease of use. I love that I can use my phone to control the navigation and can simply download and sign into apps, directly through the device, simply by connecting to WiFi. Being able to use my phone type, the tilt feature via the stand (bought separately), and auto focus are absolute game changers! Fully plan on packing this little, but powerful projector everywhere with my family for summer! ... show more

  • Excellent Product, but volume/loudness BLOWS!
I did a lot of research because I wanted a top quality product - to project movies in our yard, to take with us on our many road trips, etc. It works excellent in an outdoor setting IF there is not any other noise around. So, for example, it was wonderful on our trips to various national parks, etc. The battery power lasts for hours (at least 2 full movies last time) and the content is amazing. The picture is super clear, but not entirely straight (another reason I did not give 5 stars). But my biggest disappointment is the sound. I can't believe they advertise it as a dual projector and bluetooth speaker. I have several bluetooth speakers which are far louder. When we project movies in our yard and either the AC is on or the pool filter is on, you can barely hear the sound no matter where you are (unless you are within 6 feet of the device). So that is very disappointing. Another issue is why they can't make it at least water resistant. Any water and it's bye bye Nebula. So if they make it water resistant and, most importantly, boost up the sound, I would give it 5 stars and more. ... show more

  • I might sell this projector and just go with a Xgimi Halo!
What a really "neat" projector. What a disappointment. The problem? This was my first projector, and I did not know what I wanted. I have been satisfied with my 720p TV and thought that this satisfaction would translate to a 720p projector. But it was not as simple as that. The image quality on this projector ranges, and it can be infuriating when the commericals have better image quality than the movie or show you are watching. Again, my TV is 720p, and these dips in quality were less than a problem with a back lit image. In other words 200 lumens is NOT bright enough. Amazon had the best streaming image quality. And a Chromecast was better than the onboard clunky software on this device. Sometimes a 100" projection looked really good, sometimes, it did not. My fifty inch white screeen was pretty ideal for just about any quality image plus the light was brighter because it was closer to the screen. Personally ... I think this projector needs too much tweaking. If I were to leave it in the same spot all the time, I would dedicate an HD blueray player to it. This would eliminate the variables in quality from streaming apps. This is not a 4K projector, but even when it was accomodating a 4K image, through youtube and chromecast the image quality was still, the best I had ever seen, on the projector. As a matter of fact, I still might do that. Or, I might sell this projector and go with the XGIMI Halo, with a better contrast, true 1080p, support for 3d movies, and 600 lumens, and still portable. Anker is awesome, the design on this device, sound quality, image quality in ideal dark situatoins, are just destroyed by the terrible on board sofware. I think too, an investment into higher end HDMI cables, might make a difference, but out of the box, there were too many things to figure out. ... show more
