I bought this so I had somewhere to put my phone while I was driving, and in view. I received it and followed the directions to originally mount it to my dash. I let the piece sit for 72 hours. Followed the rest of the directions, and everything seemed good. Until I started driving. The entire thing fell off my dash… my phone included! While I was driving with my kids in my car! When I received the box, I was skeptic to believe that this could hold my S10+ but when I opened the box, I saw quality in it. The magnet is strong and reliable and the clamp is designed to not hurt your car. Even on super bumpy roads, my phone wouldn't fall off and because of the clamp's design, I don't have to worry about the vent being broken off either. Details: You get two clamps and you get to choose based on your car's vent (note that this does not work with circular vents but only for vertical and horizontal vents like in the picture). You have the choice of three different metal plates based on the type of case that you have (thin or thick case). You also get a protective sticker so that it doesn't ruin your case! It's really easy to use too. What I'm trying to say here is that you get your money's worth. This phone holder will be with me for a long time. 😁 PS: On a side note, the box has a little statement saying that Andobil is being more environmentally friendly and I think that's a step in the right direction. I own a trucking company and I also drive. I wanted to get a mount to try out before I purchased for all my trucks. This thing is pretty good. Stays up no issues. Doesn’t bounce and the phone definitely stays on. I recommend putting the steel plate on the outside of your case because if you wedge it between your phone and the case and your case even the slightest bit slippery it will not stay up. The plates are so low profile you won’t even notice them. I did have one issue with the magnet head but the seller did a great job kept in contact with me and kept trying to get in touch to send me a new one. I get so busy I don’t realize sometimes and forget to respond. But they were persistent in making it right. As soon as I get the new magnet head I will update. ... show more

So much better than the magnetic holder I had before. this holder is sturdy and fit my vents with either of the vent attachments ( one short and one long clip). You get four magnets, 2 round and 2 rectangular. I chose the rectangular and put it on the back of the phone itself and it works fine with the protective case on. My phone stays put and doesn't fall out. This kit also comes with a protective vinyl (in the shape of the magnet you chose) to put on the phone before you add your magnet for easier removal. I bought this for my new car and it never stuck from day 1. I tried with the suction cup on its own, the surface was textured. I used the supplied tape with the surface mount for the suction cup. The suction cup kept coming loose. Mind you I had the holder mounted on its side. And maybe it would have worked ok if I placed it with the suction cup part at the bottom. After added actual 3M adhesive that they use for sticking molding on the outside of the car and has worked for other similar devices. Finally I got tired of it falling off in my car and tried it in my house. Since I again mounted it side it kept falling off also. I think it is just to heavy for the way I was using it. Original review: June 2021 when new: Hard to push down for suction, but I like it greatly. Update August; for my 2008 Scion TC - losses suction on my dash and falls when the car gets hot in summer sun. Will try windshield but think that will obscure view too much. Will update again.

The suction dash mount, arm and magnetic mount are all very sturdy and have so far held up really well even on uneven roads. Two drawbacks: 1) The stickum on the metal plate included to glue onto the phone was not strong enough against the force of the magnet on the arm when used on the outside of phone case. It pulled it right off. I found it best to stick the plate on my phone directly and then put the case on over that. The magnet has been strong enough to hold through my case which is durable, medium-thick plastic polymer. 2.) The ball joint where the magnet makes contact with the plate on your phone (or phone case) gets very hot in direct sunlight (I don't have a tine on my windshield) and transfers that heat through the metal plate into your phone. A prolonged mount on a cloudless hot day could potentially fry your mother board. Otherwise, it is a sturdy, well made product. Just have to be careful how you use it. ... show more
