I attached this phone holder to the windshield. I originally liked that the suction cup also had glue to mount securely, it seemed to perform well. However in summer, after a couple of hot days, the sun heated up the glue and the mount slid down the windshield leaving a mess that was difficult to clean off - I had to use a razor blade to clean it off. To be fair, I'm in Orlando Florida and the heat from the sun will melt soft plastic that's left in the car (black car no tint on the windows). ... show more

Andobil Car Phone Mount is quite sturdy by design and quite flexible to hold iPhone XS Max down to iPhone 6 securely. It grips the phone firmly and is easy to release when needed. Dual functionality: Car Vent Mount + Car Dash Mount. Can use either way. Lock button is impressive as it force locks using next level pressure adjustment switching. I liked the idea. Similarly, the Car Vent switch is quite easy to release. Awesome 2-in-1 product. Setting this gadget holder up is a snap. It comes in three pieces with two main usabilities. First, you can use as a Car Vent Mount connecting Car Vent Mounter to the Main Holder. Second, you can connect the Dash mount to the Main Holder and use it as a car Dash Mount. This is just the think you will ever need. No more car mount purchase necessary. Connecting pieces is just simple. A nob of one of the pieces is clipped with the remaining piece. Just push it. Then all you have to do is rotate the securer and it gets secured well with a built-in ring. Mount it on your car dash. Or chance the accessory and make it as Air Vent Mount. Your choice. Make sure the mountable surface is clean if you are using it as a Dash Mount. I even experimented it on my work-desk prior to mounting on my car dash. I fount it a whole lot different experience how one can use phone while working on the desk. Just the side I can choose and just the height I can adjust for my convenience. No more worrying damaging iPhone cameras anymore because I hate putting protection case on my shiny iPhone. A lot of people may prefer it as a Car Mount smartphone holder but I found it interestingly helpful as a desk mount for my iPhone using it for several days constantly. You will be surprised how convenient it is to have a desk mount like this for your iPhone or any other smartphone while you are working on your desk. Since most of the new phone designs are weird in nature with multiple exposed cameras on the back of the phone, a holder is amazingly useful that I found only after using this mount for the first time as a phone holder on my desk. As advertised, it does have a strong suction mount which I do not have to worry getting my phone knocked off accidentally. Unmounting the Andobil Car Mount is as simple as releasing phone from its hold. You shift the dedicated tab over the mount and it is good to get out immediately from a car dash or from the office desk. You do not have to struggle at all as it seems in other products in the same class. I suggest to find a permanent place to mount it and then forget it. This way it will stay put in the place forever. Do I recommend Andobil Car Phone Mount over similar products in the same class? The answer is: Yes. It is quite sturdy against the comparison and looks and feels well built the reflects quality. Why would I recommend this to others? The main reason is: the built quality and the purpose it meets up and even exceeds. Also it comes along with Car Vent Mount accessory to make it a versatile use. Mounted this and it seems the mount disk is sticking, at least so far. Already had the suction cup system let go once. It seems the phone holder part will have to have the bottom support setting on the outer edge of the dash or jouncing/bouncing that occurs while driving will eventually break the suction and dis-lodge the mount. Happened to me just driving around town the 2nd day I had it. I do have to say it is winter here with temps in the high 20 and low 30 range so the suction cup may be slightly hindered by that because it is much less flexible so less able to stick like it should. Now I have this setup with the bottom of the phone holder part resting on the outer dash pad for stabilization and it works ok, as in, seems to stay stuck if setup like that. Note to manufacturer for future updates, ideally I would like to see this unit have a larger mount that when stick down to the dash pad, would have a mechanical means of mounting the arm/phone holder, NOT a suction cup that can, and does some times come lose. Over all quality of this mount is just OK. I had another unit that was a window suction mount with similar style phone holder. The phone holder part on that last one seemed much better made. The window suction cup failed and it was some kind of semi liquid silicon that once failed it would not re-mount. Looking for the perfect phone holder for your car? The Andobil Car Phone Mount likely is not it. The suction cup unit is a point of failure, it is only a matter of time before it lets go, specially if you don't adjust it so the phone holder part rest on the edge of your dash for stabilization like I had to do. I imagine later if this unit's suction cup continues to un-stick and fall off, I'll build my own custom made phone mount using a large aluminum pad, something like 4 x 6 x 1/4 inches with a high grade sticker like this andobil unit has, only larger 4x6 size. Then I will probably use a 8" or 12" heavy duty microphone flex neck that screws down. Next I'll attach the ball mount and phone holder from this unit or my older one I still have and then it might stay put and work as expected, but even with that setup I'll probably need to rest the bottom of the phone mount on the dash edge for stabilization. The big upgrade there will be the elimination of the unnecessary and prone to failure suction cup system. Suction cups eventually lose suction and let go, they just do. ... show more
