I bought this set up from 5 pounds to 25 because I simply wanted to do simple workouts. After receiving my barbell and these weights, they were a worthy purchase. The weights were a perfect condition when I received them. They are a proper fit to my barbell. Thickness is basically the same as other conventional weights in gyms and they are efficient when storing them. The only thing I can say about them is they have a weird smell when I first opened them, but the smell went away after sometime. That’s only the issue I have but everything else was perfect.

Weights came packaged nicely with no damage, and on time. Yes, these do stink and will immediately need to be washed with soap and water upon arrival. To get rid of the 'smoke' smell, after I washed them I de-gassed them on the back patio for about a week, out of direct sunlight, and let the AZ heat do it's job. Yes, my gym at my house smells like any commercial gym that I've been to, and there is no way around having a vulcanized rubber smell in any area where you have rubber coated weights and a rubber floor. For those with a very sensitive sense of smell, still live with their parents, or have to sleep, eat, or watch TV in the area these weights will be stored/used, I would suggest not purchasing these or anything made with lots of rubber to use for exercise equipment. Life is way too short. For me, I have worked out most of my adult life and don't mind the smell of new rubber. Besides, at my house the smell is contained to the room the equipment is stored/used in. After looking at the quality of the product and considering the purchasing experience, I picked up extra sets of 10's, 5's, and 2.5's, and will eventually buy pairs of 35's and 45's to complete my set.

Plates are great, but they come with heavy oil and smell awful. We have had them for almost 2 months and still have oil on my hands every time I touch them. Appearance is good and when the oil is gone I appreciate the handle grips.
