This Gonex waterproof duffel is a total beast — I’ve used it on kayaking trips, beach days, and rainstorms, and not a drop of water got inside. The roll-top closure, welded seams, and durable fabric really deliver. It’s roomy but still carryable, with solid handles and comfortable straps. TLDR: Even if you roll the closure as tight as you can and buckle it securely to the sides water will get in as the roll will not hold. Put things you care about in a dry box because water will get in. I kayak and needed a waterproof bag to carry my gear in, got an 80l as I figured even if it doesn’t work out it’s big enough to carry gear for other outdoor activities. The 80l is very roomy, you could easy fit a small child or a mid size dog in there. Zipper quality on the side pocket is nice but NOT waterproof. Material is very durable and can take a beating. Handles are nice but very long and not adjustable. I found out the hard way that this bag is NOT waterproof by rolling over and the amount of water that was inside tripled the weight of the bag making it very hard to pull out of the water and empty. If you are my size (F + 5’4) it is a pain. The bag does dry well but if not dried completely it will become very humid and moisture will get into your gear. Going to use this as a gear bag for on land activities, but going to try a smaller size and see if it rolls closed any better than this one did. Will update! YES! Use this for out of water activities or as something that can hold up in the rain for a while. NO! Submerge any of the openings to any degree (both top opening and zipper).

I unwrapped this bag today and was amazed. Very well built like the rest of my waterproof bags. And it’s gonna be perfect for my new dock Island that I just purchased from Amazon. And I even put a palm tree on it.🤣😘💦🦋🏝️

I took two of the 80L bags on a two week whitewater rafting trip with my son. They performed flawlessly, kept our clothes and gear dry, and stowed easily. They're heavy duty and despite weeks of rough handling looked like brand new at the end. They hold a LOT of gear, and the gaskets seal well once you get the hang of "burping" the dry bag to get any air out of it. I'd feel pretty good about taking these as a primary luggage bag on any remote trip where you're going to have to travel rough, since they're perfect for throwing in the back of a pickup or on top of a bus-- you don't need to worry about the rain. Solid value for the money.

The bag did the job on long motorcycle trips, including in heavy downpours. It's durable and kept rain water out. The handles are good, the shoulder strap not great but good enough for short trips to/from hotel rooms. The yellow gets marked up over time on the back of the bike, as expected. I like the color for added visibility without being too loud.
