I have a cocker spaniel. Finally bought this gem and paid more yes....and beyond happy. My $50 pair I bought finally quit working and never was happy with them. A hair cut for my dog went from 1 1/2 hours or I'll finish it tomorrow to 35 mins! I just got done and yes only used once. I was only on 1st speed. Never even went to the 2nd speed. It did not get hot like other reviews might say, maybe towards the end a little warm but nothing that hurt him or me. Its a motor. It'll get a little warm. Nice long cord and the #10 worked great as I just shave him down. I don't do the cocker cut as I can't brush 20 times a day to get tangles out plus he gets hot with long hair. I admit I usually do two haircuts then back to the groomer for a real deal so yes I'm saving money in the long run. I'm no groomer but this was the best time he and I had as it wasn't loud running and truly like a hot knife through butter. Reminder only used once just a few mins ago and be back to get him next month sometime but these are built well. I only put a 4 star on weight. Its 2 pounds give or take and ounce but to me it's fine and I knew I had a genuine good product. These are the best dog clippers I've owned. I have two cocker spaniels who have thick, curly hair. Other clippers I've owned would get clogged and/or overheat. While these clippers did get a bit warm, they never clogged and glided right through the hair, even without brushing out the dog first. I highly recommend these clippers, especially if your dog has thick hair. ... show more

This clipper is amazing. Isabelle is a nearly one year old mini poodle/Bernese and her coat is curly like a poodle but thicker. My old clipper that I used on my previous purebred poodle couldn’t even make a dent in Isabelle’s coat. I bought a 1/4” blade, snapped it on, plugged it in and it was so easy! It’s quiet, comfortable to handle and doesn’t get too hot. If I feel it warming up I put it down to cool off and work with the scissors for a bit.     • Good clippers, but did not work for me.
These are honestly good quality. But the frequency of them threw my poodle into panic mode. Some dogs are more sensitive to that than others, and there are clippers just for them. I think these will work for most dog owners. provided your K9 is not as insane as mine....

    • Faulty item, spectacularly bad customer service from both Amazon and Andis US.
Extremely frustrating experience. Item arrived quickly and while louder than expected and heating up quite quickly, it worked fine (with a voltage adapter) for 5 weeks, before shorting out during use. At this point the trouble started. Contacting Amazon I was advised that after the 30 day period there is absolutely nothing they will do to assist - even with a clearly faulty item under 1 year unlimited warranty - and that I should contact the manufacturer directly. Ok, it's a legitimate business, should be easy... (it is not easy). Andis US refuse to deal with me and direct me back to Amazon, knowing full well the policy Amazon enforces. Spent hours trying different communication channels, before ultimately managing to contact an Australian arm of Andis who advised that as it is a US model they are unable to repair or service it and that Andis US refuse to pay for the replacement. This is a high price item, designed for professional use, and this level of post sale service is totally unacceptable. This process is ongoing, but I would highly recommend you avoid purchasing this product on Amazon, if at all. ... show more

Bought these to replace my Wahl cutters that died after three cuts on my Bernedoodle. These new clippers cut the time to cut considerably. Amazing product! Don’t waste your money on the cheap clippers. Go for these right out of the gate!

We had one of these clippers years ago when we bred dogs. Now that we only have a couple of pet dogs in our care we didn't want to spend the money to buy a clipper of professional quality. We bought the next model down in quality thinking it would do for just the two we now have. I was wrong. The lesser model did not hold up and made the job so much harder and slower. This model is just so much more capable and powerful. I put it to work right away because the cheaper one was out of commission. The job went so quick and easy. I love the two speeds and the extra power and durability of this clipper. The last time we owned this model it lasted for ten years or more through hundreds of dogs. First time to use dog groomers and it is easy. Goes through my Aussiedoodles hair with ease. I still had to trim around her paws and face with hair scissors but 90% I can get with these.
