Another review pointed this out, but the wattage consumption for eco is not that. Fan uses 3W, 1 uses 730W, 2 is 1500W, and eco uses 950W. So it essentially goes low, high, medium

My previous space heater, the amazon basics (older model than what is being sold now) gave up the ghost after 6 years because the switch was cheap and started shorting and eventually stopped working. The amazon basics wasn't in stock at the time, so I eventually settled on this. My goal was to find the least expensive space heater which had favorable / trustworthy reviews. Size: This is probably 1/2 the size of my old amazon basics. I'm really surprised by how small and light this is. Overall: Yeah it's a space heater, it does it's job. Everything seems fine and what you would expect. Quality seems good. I'm very happy with it for the price. Observations / Testing: I plugged it into my kill-a-watt tester to measure wattage since no one else had done this in the reviews and I was curious at the time of purchase. So I hope this is helpful. Notes on testing: Wattage climbs fast and then shoots past stable, peaks, and then slowly starts to come down. The numbers I list below are about what stable wattage looks like about 60 seconds after turning the unit on that mode. Fan: 3w Low: 688w High: 1393w Eco: 940w When testing "High" mode, the wattage peaked out at around 1900w. I thought it was going to throw my circuit breaker, but somehow didn't. It only exceeded 1500w for about 5-7 seconds, but I was still surprised by this. My guess is high mode will probably throw folks circuit breakers, especially if they are in older homes or have existing loads on the circuit. Suggestions for improvement: 1. Move Eco mode between Low and High, so we get a normal gradation of wattage. It's weird that it sits on the other side of High. 2. I'd like to see Low mode a bit lower wattage. I'd suggest something like: - Low: 500w - Eco (just rename to medium): 950w (so like it is now) - High: 1400w (like it is now) 3. I wish the fan was a little faster for better air movement. But all in all, considering I bought one of if not the least expensive space heater on amazon at the time of purchase - I'm very happy and thus 5* despite there being room for improvement. I should note that I almost exclusively plan on running this on Low. I may do "Eco" from time to time, but Low generally already puts out more heat than I would prefer (500w would be great though). The main question is durability and how long it will last. That remains to be seen. So far so good. ... show more
